Personal Description:
I am a positive, friendly teacher who relates very well to young people and is able to build meaningful relationships quickly and effectively. I am committed to the philosophy of "every child matters", and use this as the core element of my practice.
Teaching Experience:
I have over 13 years of highly successful teaching experience gained in a variety of educational settings. I have taught in primary education for 7 years and special education for 4 years where I taught young people with behavioural problems. I have also taught secondary English and spent a year in Thailand teaching ESL to Thai students. I have taught piano lessons to grade 5, keyboard lessons and music theory.
Tutoring Approach:
"Fun, firm and fair" best describes my approach to tutoring. My aim is to provide an comfortable & stimulating learning environment where each child's need are catered for individually, paying close attention to different learning styles. I believe every child has the right to achieve their full potential, and I aim to help equip them with the tools they need to do this.
