Personal Description:
I am an approachable and relaxed person with a lot of patience. I enjoy working to help other people.
I love the outdoors and have real passion for outdoor pursuits and sport. As well as this I am a keen reader and love watching films.
I currently hold a valid CRB check.
Teaching Experience:
I have had nearly 10 years experience of working with young people through youth work and coaching.
As a graduate I have a good knowledge of English, Media and film and am keen to help others improve their knowledge.
I have spent the last two years as an outdoor pursuits/environmental studies coach working with people with special needs and physical/mental disabilities...
I have a lot of experience of coaching individuals on the autistic spectrum....
In addition to this I have plenty of experience of working with reluctant learners. I have spent nearly 3 years working as a mentor to young teenagers who have become problematic and are close to expulsion from school. My role has been to support, encourage and listen to try and help them re-enter into the school environment and complete their education.
I have recently been appointed as learning consultant for the centre, implementing educational programmes that will assist individuals studying at key stage 2/3 as well as GCSE level.
Tutoring Approach:
I understand that learning is a big challenge to some people. As a tutor I think it is vital that one should not preach but instead do their utmost to support and encourage individuals whilst they are studying.
As a tutor I think it is important to relate to my students and therefore I try and work to implement a study program that best suits and relates to each student.
