Christopher - Stratford-upon-Avon tutor

Information About Christopher:

Personal Description:

I am a married father of two young children and hold a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham (specialising in Molecular Microbiology) and previously worked as a post-doctoral research scientist at Warwick HRI (University of Warwick). I enjoy teaching students about science and maths, and I am a patient, friendly, enthusiastic and approachable tutor.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring regularly since September 2007 and am familiar with a range of different syllabi.

Here is an example of the feedback I have recieved, from a parent of an A-level Biology student:

'My daughter found Chris to be very helpful and easy to talk to with regard to the aspects of the work that she was having difficulty with. He explained things well and took time to make sure that she understood. He always sent her homework between sessions and made sure that they were marked and discussed. Overall, I have been very impressed with him.'

Tutoring Approach:

Each student finds different areas of the subject difficult and the first step is identifying these areas. We will then work closely with the syllabus and use practice exam questions to build confidence and develop exam technique. I will set students specifically tailored questions for them to do individually between lessons, unless requested not to. CRB verified.
