Information About Yvonne:
Personal Description:
I am 21 and currently in my first year of my PhD in Pharmacy and Chemistry at Cardiff University. I did my first degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial College. I am a British Citizen though I am born and raised in Hong Kong. Hence, I am fluent in Cantonese and would be have to teach it. Having spend my 8th year in the UK, I speak fluent english as well. I did my GCSEs and A- Levels in UK and hence i understand the structure and the course requirements.
Teaching Experience:
I have done a 3 week placement (sponsored by the TDA) as a science teaching assistant in a school. I have enjoyed the experience thoroughly. A couple of years ago, I have also tutored a girl in English and Maths when I spend my summer holidays in Hong Kong.
Tutoring Approach:
I am very patient and I believe in allowing the pupil to work at his/ her own pace. I am willing to recognise and respect the different learning styles a pupil may have. I believe that I explain concepts clearly and use examples to reinforce concepts learned.
