I am a French national, 40 year old vintage...
I married to an English girl. We have 4 children, all bilingual.
I first came to the UK in 1992.
My education includes: Cambridge CELTA, BSc in Building Engineering, Diploma in Life Coaching
I currently work as self-employed French tutor & translator.
I offer daytime French Conversation Groups for adults, in-house French for businesses and private tuition for adults and children (11-up)
I work in Bournemouth/Poole and the New Forest
Teaching Experience:
1996: University lecturer - French, Aston University, Birmingham
Since 2005: self-employed tutor - French (conversation groups, private lessons - 1to1, group lessons including businesses)
Tutoring Approach:
Pupil's learning style is paramount. My approach is very flexible, I have no definite plan to teaching/tutoring before meeting the pupil/tutee. Their abilities with the language and confidence level are assessed first, we then discuss their aspirations before a personalised programme is planned.
Lots of smiles and a laid back approach to learning create an atmosphere of trust, conducive to faster learning.
Lots of praise and revisions of previously learnt new concepts & vocabulary help raise confidence in the pupil's ability and progress.
