Personal Description:
I am a primary school teacher who believes that learning should be stimulating and fun in order for each individual child to reach their full potential. I am fully aware that focused one-to-one attention is not always possible in the classroom and therefore I offer one-to-one tuition in order to develop and extend pupil's prior knowledge of subjects covered in school- whether your child is behind at school, ahead at school or just needs consolidation of learning covered in school.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for ten years now. I have a degree in Primary Education. I have been providing home tuition for a seven years now, from reception to year 6, including SATs and 11+ preparation.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is this: Establish what the child's strengths and weaknesses are first and build on this. This gives the child the confidence to take on challenges within their learning and really feel like they CAN do it.
Also, I develop different strategies to subject areas so that each child finds the method of working that works best for them.
I strive to make lessons fun and motivating as well as rewarding for the child.
