Personal Description:

I have been tutoring in some form or another for a long time - since I was at school in fact! I love learning and have generally found that I can make it enjoyable for others.

I studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford. Since graduating I have worked in many different sectors over the years including the civil service, management consulting and think tanks. This experience has given me excellent practical and real world skills which provide a strong supplement to my academic qualifications.



Teaching Experience:

I have been a full-time private tutor now for a year. Most of my recent teaching has been for Economics A-Level, both Edexcel and AQA boards. I have also taught English and Maths at GCSE, Politics at A-level and Philosophy up to and including degree level. Please contact me for further details.

Previously I taught English and Maths at a Saturday School while I was at college and taught Philosophy at degree level while I was doing my Masters' degree.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is based on helping students to develop the tools to think through problems themselves. I find out what students know, and build from that to more complex concepts through explanation, examples and practice. I believe that everyone has huge unlocked potential to learn and understand new things if they are taught in the right way.

I focus strongly on the syllabus and past exam papers to build students' ability and confidence to achieve the highest grades.

I am patient, friendly and enthusiastic in my style, and sensitive to my students' needs.
