Personal Description:
I am 24 years old and currently working as a scientist in the area of Influenza. I have a first class honours degree in Microbiology from Cardiff University, and A-levels in Biology (A), Chemistry (B) and Physics (B). I enjoy working with young people and helping them learn and progress with science. I also hold a current enhanced CRB check.
Teaching Experience:
Throughout my university and college years, I have held study groups to aid my colleagues. I frequently offer help to friends and family with their lessons and am told that I offer good, clear explanations.
Tutoring Approach:
As a younger tutor I can empathise with the pressures children face taking their exams today. It was not so long ago I did my own exams! I also find that my age helps me identify with the students and that they feel comfortable asking me questions and talking about the subject areas they find difficult. I adapt my lessons to suit the needs of the student, be it revision, writing notes or doing practice questions. I am told my explanations are clear and easy to understand. I like to make learning as fun and lively as possible!
