Personal Description:
I graduated from Bath University in 2005 and have a BA in Modern Languages and European Studies (German and ab initio Russian). I have excellent GCSE qualifications and have spent 1 academic year teaching English in Moscow. I am friendly and approachable.
Teaching Experience:
October 2006 - June 2007: I worked for Language Link Russia, in a school outside Moscow. Here I taught English as a Foreign Language. I taught various ages from 11 - 55+ and levels, from beginners' to Intermediate, though am capable of teaching more advanced English.
Tutoring Approach:
I fins that the most important thing to do first is to assess the individual's level, needs and learning style. Everyone learns differently and so it is important to find what works for the individual, something that 1 on 1 tutoring caters for well. My approach is very much based on the communicative approach which encourages as much active participation as possible with a focus on communication. Additionally, however, I do like grammar and so would be willing to focus a lot on that if so wished.
