Hello! I'm a qualified teacher currently teaching in a north Wales secondary school. I have 28 years teaching and tutoring experience and an honours degree in Biomedical science. I previously spent 3 years working as a qualified scientific officer at a large teaching hospital. I love my job and I'm passionate about science and working with students to improve their confidence and grades.

My two sons are both at secondary school so I understand the pressures of exams as a parent too.

Tutoring Approach:
As the mother of two teenage boys, I understand the importance of patience and humour in tutoring. I love science and really enjoy passing on my passion to others. Tutoring has allowed me to meet some fantastic people and I get a huge sense of satisfaction in helping out and watching them progress.

Since COVID, my tutees and myself have made the transition to online tutoring which, although I was sceptical at first, I now feel this method works even better than in person. It gives me better access to resources to use in lessons and to pass to students without the need for printing, it allows more flexibility with lessons, allows me to reach students who live further away, avoids lesson cancellations due to poor weather and is less intrusive for the student's family.

Dates - life is often busy so I'm happy to move lessons around if I'm free.
Lessons - things happen and sometimes students need to cancel a lesson at the last moment. Online tutoring gives us the flexibility to do this without any problems or any fee.

I have achieved A*A*A*A in my recent A Level results and have also represented my country in various mathematics competition which include me winning an Honourable Mention in Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad.

I am currently the Mathemtics Subject Leader on the Warwick University Higher Education Foundation Programme at Stratford upon Avon College. I teach mathematics on this programme. I am 20 years old, I'm a native speaker of french. I moved over to France at the slender age of 12 and I lived there for 7 years, I have taken my french equivalent GCSE's and A-level's in France. I studied medieval languages, literature, and history at the University of Cambridge before completing an MA in Medieval Studies at the University of York. I then moved to La Rochelle (France) in 2016, where I taught English in two schools. After spending 4 months in New Zealand, I began teaching English at the Sorbonne University in Paris (2018-2020). I am now in the process of completing a PhD which focuses on medieval literature and languages (including Old French). I'm a writer, composer, director and artist, and prizewinning History finalist at the University of Oxford, with experience of a broad range of learning environments and teaching styles, and substantial industry experience in music and the creative arts. My skill sets include teaching Mandarin character writing, standard Mandarin pronunciation and proficiencies in Chinese culture. I am excited to put my skills and knowledge to use here UKtutors, for teaching authentic Mandarin to those looking for a Mandarin tutor. I make use of the TPR (Total Physical Response) teaching method, to give my students immersion in the language, attract their attention, with a focus on making the lessons more fun, to let my students enjoy learning a new language.

Through my lessons, I can effectively help young students or adult learners reach their personal goals in Mandarin.

Teaching Experience:
My career has seen me teaching English in schools in China for over five years, with an additional three years experience of being a private Mandarin tutor in UK. The usual age of my students are from 3 to 16 years old, however I have good experience working with adults. Since early of 2019 I have taught Chinese in person and online across students of different abilities, e.g. Primary, GCSE, HSK and Adult learners. My focus is adapting to the teaching needs, learning styles and abilities of my students. As of recently, I have enjoyed tutoring my students online during the pandemic.

I received a university training in Theatre Stage and Costume Design (M.A. graduated in 2004).
For the last 20 years I have worked in different theatre productions as Stage and Costume Designer as well as Puppet Maker.
For the last six years I have worked as a sculptor. My works have been displayed in exhibitions of Royal Society of British Artists, The Society Women Artists, Cork Street Open Exhibition and others.

Teaching Experience:
My teaching experiences are:
- group art lessons for children from 4-12 years old
- Individual art lessons to any age, including GCSE, A-level and University.
