A Master's graduate of The Institute of Contemporary Music, I have a wealth of experience performing throughout the UK and Europe with many different artists, including James Woodrow (BBC singers), Harry Marshall, Lisa Canny, Db Clifford, Joe Slater, The Fizz (formerly Bucks Fizz) and many more. I have also played at many of Europe's most highly regarded venues and festivals such as Isle of Wight Festival, Jazz in the Park (Romania), Rhythms of The World and the O2 Academy Brixton, whilst featuring on many radio and magazine shows, such as BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Magazine and many more. I love to get involved in as many genres as possible, and my CV includes an exploration of an array of styles such as jazz, jazz-fusion, blues, funk, rock, progressive, pop, traditional and contemporary Irish music, traditional and contemporary Syrian music, soul, hip- hop and grime.

A student's personal goals are always at the centre of their development and I like to approach tutoring on an individual basis, as, particularly with music, every student learns in a way unique to them. The first lesson is generally spent getting to know students (and vice versa), understanding the approaches that work best for them and building a much needed rapport. I feel strongly that students must feel at ease and thus able to express themselves freely in lessons, as this will transfer in their music.

Areas covered will include the student's chosen instrument (can be more than one), music theory, harmony, technique, timing, technology (using DAWs or Sibelius), working within band/ensemble contexts (both musically and socially) and self-development, which includes the study of practice methods, mentality and motivation. Lessons are typically taught in an informal environment, enabling for the freedom of expression and thought. Lessons are generally encouraged to be an hour in length, but other options are very much available.

Lessons are taught predominantly online, from my home (Oxted, Surrey), or on occasion at a student's location. Please note that the latter will require an extra fee (to cover travel expenses and time).

Each learner is unique and absorbs information in their own way, so I apply various teaching strategies and techniques tailored to each individual. To illustrate my approach, I categorize learners into children and adults. Children typically have a limited attention span but are drawn to games, stories, songs, and rhymes, so I incorporate interactive activities of this nature into the classroom. This approach helps words and sentences to be absorbed more easily and naturally, keeping the children fully focused and engaged. Colourful flashcards are both enjoyable and effective. Three weeks later I took a Chinese proficiency test and placed at mid-novice level (the test was aimed at people who had 120+ hours learning time, I had eight hours under my belt). James is a freelance theatre director who trained at RADA and the Kings Head Theatre in London.

I have directed several theatre productions at drama schools, fringe and off-west end theatres. As an Associate Director, I have worked in the West End on numerous productions including The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and the Olivier and Grammy-nominated Amelie The Musical. I have also worked at the Royal Shakespeare Company as an Assistant Director on their sell-out show A Christmas Carol starring Adrien Edmondson.

Teaching Experience:
In my early career I taught at Theatrix Performing Arts School and directed students through Trinity College London acting examinations as well as public performances. My students achieved a 100% pass rate with Merits or Distinctions in their performance examinations. I first began to take interest in education in late 2016 during my second year of studies at Falmouth University, after undertaking 'skills for music leaders' module, where I studied different approaches to formal and non-formal music education. In September 2017, I have taken my ambitions to teach guitar further and fully dedicated my third year of studies to learn about ethics in music education, and began work experience with Cornwall Music Service Trust. I have shadowed 3 guitar teachers as well as 1 violin teacher and learned how to work with children aged between 6-16. I then had a research career here in the UK mainly working on muscle development. I can be found in Nature doing that.

I adjust my teaching to the student, in accordance with how they think and remember and the other subjects they are doing. I will always check that I am not leaving the student behind and they fully understand before moving on. I am good at finding suitable analogies.

I have experience at tutoring people from a number of different countries and cultures. Please do not think I just teach white Europeans.

Hi, i'm Olie, I have studied drum kit grades and to university level at LCCM in London. I now teach mon - fri term time in schools in London and perform in bands and orchestras.

During holidays (half terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer), I am available for online and in person lessons.

I have loads of experience teaching kids and young adults, as well as older students.

My lessons are fun and tailored to the individual. If you have a specific song/technique you would like to study, or are just looking for a great way to let of some steam, get in touch!

I use Rockschool, Trinity Classical & Jazz and Trinity Rock & Pop and have passed students in all syllabuses.

I also have my own library of song charts for beginner to advanced players and am welcome to suggestions from you of what songs you would like to learn!

Teaching Experience:
My teaching has reading and listening at it's heart. The best thing I have done since coming to London is open my ears to all the styles I didn't like, listen over and over, until they started to grow on me! Music is a cultural and historical lesson as well, it's interesting to see where the popular styles of today came from! Reading will just make you more employable as all the session, musical theatre and holiday camp drummers will tell you! I use software such as Noteflight which allows me to playback scores, making sight reading an easier and more enjoyable process, and meaning I can share scores with students via email. Each student is also given a video recording of what we studied in the lesson, which is a very valuable resource, something they can take away from each lesson, and makes remembering what we learned much easier!

Tutoring Approach:
I come from a family where music is extremely important. At school, my first band was a rock covers band where my brother played bass. We played regularly in pubs in Dorset, (you may have heard of the Teddy Rocks festival, we played in the very first festival and have played with my band Last Resort ever since). My first teacher was keen for me to learn how to read music, meaning I could play in school orchestras for musicals. I have 2 Grade 8 distinctions, one from Rockshool and one from Trinity Guildhall, I did the rockschool one first and then thought it best to add the Trinity one! The rock band i was in still plays, we have an EP online and continue to write original music.
Having just finished uni, I am keen to start my musical career ASAP, I want to stay in London, because it has the best music scene in Europe!!

I hold a master's degree in Cyber Security and an honours degree in Mathematics with Statistics from Royal Holloway University of London. My hobbies include football, travelling abroad and strength training.

Teaching Experience:
During my studies, I had worked as a teaching assistant starting at 16 years old and for nearly 5 years aiding students in their mathematical studies. Under my guidance as a teaching assistant I have seen students excel their end of module tests in order to progress to the next level of their mathematical learning.
From 2020 I began tutoring independently following the closure of the study center. I had provided hourly sessions for tutees both face-to-face and online, to help improve the knowledge of students and prepare for upcoming exams.
Through various online platforms I have delivered lessons online toa accommodates the students.

Teaching students of all ages and mathematical abilities. The lessons will be tailored to the students' needs and simplify the problem to their understanding. This can be delivered by going through past papers; working on mathematical examples or approaching problems they have experienced in their studies.
Lessons will be conducted either at the student's home or an online platform that suits the student.

I am a current A-Level student, studying Chemistry, Biology, Maths, and Business at sixth form. I want to help students achieve their academic goals, and I believe I can work well with students at a variety of levels. I currently work as a teaching assistant at a primary school, and I have taught and worked with children up to the age of 15, having experience in teaching at GCSE level and below. I have mentored younger students at my school for several years, and have also worked with family friends and relatives. This has mainly been in English, Maths and Sciences.

I'm currently in my second year of college studying A-level economics, A-level maths and A-level business.
I went from failing all my subjects to getting predicted Bs, this has led me to wanting to help others fall in love with the subjects they're struggling in and achieve great results. I will be studying economics at university therefore economics is the subject that I'm most confident at and can help first year students only, as for help regarding GCSE maths I'm open to tutoring students in year 8 and year 9.

I've previously helped helped younger family members with their homework, classmates and friends.

Tutoring Approach:
I personally prefer that the student brings a question(s) that they need help on and I can assist them. However I believe that the same technique might not work for some students and therefore I'd ask whether they'd prefer to get support on specific topics or a specific style of question.
