I have just finished a PhD in maths at Newcastle University so it goes without saying I'm enthusiastic about both maths and physics. On top of this I have a wide variety of interests, and this allows me to find ways of explaining things that the people I'm tutoring can relate to.

Teaching Experience:
While studying at Newcastle I've taken many tutorials for students taking courses in Maths. For the past 6 years I've also worked in a tutoring drop-in centre where any student at Newcastle University can come to ask maths questions. I've always enjoyed this work as over the course of a day I can be asked how to apply maths to many problems from mechanical engineering to fine arts!

I am a graduate of the University of Huddersfield, where I studied 'Music and Sound For Image'. I achieved a first-class degree, as well as the 'Audio-visual prize' from my University for my work composing music to film.

I have worked at summer camps in the United States twice for 9 weeks each, living amongst 11-17 year olds 24/7 so have a great deal of patience! Although not a qualified teacher, I have taught Piano to several students who were preparing to take grades in the instrument, and have helped students prepare to move into GCSE and A levels. I have taken more than 15 practical and theoretical grades in my life, so I know the content and mark schemes well.

The best application of me as a Tutor, in my opinion, would be in preparation for grades/exams. This includes GCSE, A-Level, Music Theory, or Piano.
