Tutoring Approach:
Teaching Pedagogy: The vast majority of One-2-One tutors simply 'turn-up-and-teach' without adequate preparation. Maths is mostly about 'understanding', and less about 'throw up facts'. A tutor gets ONE CHANCE to impart 'understanding' in a clear and coherent way. Not having prepared and risking an incomplete, confused or incoherent explanation instills confusion in the student, rather than confidence.

• Regular feedback and homework: Most tutors either set no homework at all or thoughtlessly set exercises from a textbook containing inappropriate questions. My homework is specifically written to complement the lesson, containing some questions designed for routine practice and some questions designed to challenge the student; encouraging them to 'think' and to develop their logical capacity.

• Exam Practice: I give students plenty of past paper practice - but only at the right time, once they have a deep understanding of all of the individual topics within the syllabus. Far too many tutors use exam papers to 'teach' from, which means they are setting papers when the student isn't ready: The upshot of that is the student's scores fluctuate wildly and their confidence is destroyed.
The lessons are invigorating, inspirational and cutting edge as I keep a very thorough hold on my subject.

Not only will I tutor the language but I will also teach you cultural aspects of Brazilian culture.

I have been teaching Portuguese since 2008. I have my Teaching License in second languages from a Brazilian University (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina).

Some personal information about myself - I am into dancing (Brazilian and Latin style), Brazilian music, traveling and sports.

Teaching Experience:
- Portuguese and English one-on-one tutor (from 2008 to the present): Teach one-on-one lessons following the Communicative Approach /
Teach both in-person and on-line lessons

- Portuguese as a second language tutor (at The Language Club school. Florianópolis - Brazil. Jul 2008 - Mar 2010 and Oct 2012 - May 2013): One-on-one Portuguese lessons for students from various nationalities. Conducted the lessons following the Communicative Approach.

- English Teacher (Federal University of Santa Catarina. Florianópolis - Brazil. Mar 2013 - Nov 2014.): Taught English for classes of about 15 adults aging from 18 to 50 years old. Conducted the lessons following the Communicative Approach.

- Teaching assistant in early years education (St Francis College, São Paulo - Brazil. Oct 2015 - Dec 2018): Teaching assistant in classes of children aged from 2 to 5 years old. Engaged children into learning and exploring following The PYP (Primary Years Programme).

- Au Pair Programme. (New Jersey, United States of America. Jul 2010 - Jul 2012): Live-in nanny for children aging from 20 months to 7 years old.

- Teaching Assistent in a school for autistic children. (Queensmill school, Shepherd's Bush, London, UK. Jun 2021 - Jul 2022).

Tutoring Approach:
The lessons are tailored to meet the students' needs. I usually apply the Communicative approach in my lessons. But it won't suit some students. In this case, I will rethink the methodology. That's why prior to choosing any strategies, I will offer a free appointment to discuss students' aspirations and establish their Portuguese level. We then agree on a program of study which matches their goals, frequency of lessons, and their starting ability. The lesson plan will be updated every 3 to 6 months.

Personal Description:
I'm a UK-qualified teacher (QTS) and CELTA-certified tutor with a Postgraduate in Education(PGCE), a Bachelor's in Electronic and Electrical Engineering(BEng), and a postgraduate in Computing. I enjoyed working with children, so I quit my job as an engineer, to be a teacher. I offer premium tutoring services that go beyond academics to support the full development of each child. With experience teaching in London secondary schools and founding a school in Sri Lanka for underserved communities, I bring a rare blend of educational rigour, global awareness, and deep compassion to my work.

Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified Maths teacher (QTS) with extensive experience teaching at London's leading Outstanding-rated secondary schools. I have taught across a wide range of year groups, from Year 7 to Year 13, and have a proven track record of helping students succeed in both GCSE and A-Level Maths.

In addition to my classroom teaching, I have worked as a private tutor and governess for students of all ages and abilities, including private households and those needing tailored support. I also mentor A-Level students, guiding them in identifying their passions, setting clear goals, and preparing for university admissions and future career paths. My teaching experience extends beyond the UK. I co-launched and led a school in Sri Lanka that focused on providing quality education to underprivileged children.

I am currently studying A-level maths and AS-level Further maths, i have achieved an A* in my maths GCSE and an A in the Futher Maths GCSE

i am currently working with the younger years in my school year 7 mostly helping them with maths, it's going very well and myself and the children enjoy it alot
