My name is Rob and I provide piano lessons in the Wootton Bassett and Swindon area. I have been playing the piano and singing for over 30 years - which I enjoy immensely!

I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and experience the joy that it bringS - not just for yourself, but for everyone else around you,too!

Lessons are fun, informal, constructive and progressive.

ABRSM examiations can be undertaken, or you can learn just for pleasure. My aim will be to give you the best instruction in the most informative way possible.

Theoretical terms are taught alongside piano and singing lessons, to ensure that you are fully equipped.

I offer a FREE introductory appointment where I will meet you and discuss your needs and requirements and devise a programme which will work for you or your child.

I teach from a music study in my own home, with piano lessons conducted on an excellent Yamaha upright Piano.

My own 3 daughters have enjoyed learning to play the piano on this instrument too!

However, some lessons can be provided at your home, if practicable.

I am member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, CRB checked, fully insured, and keep myself updated with the latest teaching techniques on courses and through further study.

I am a former trombonist of the Band of the 3 BattalionRoyal Regiment of Wales, and former conductor of other male choirs including Newport (Gwent) and Snowdown (Kent).

I also studied singing at many RSCM courses. I have performed in a variety of venues including Bath Abbey, the Royal Albert Hall, Westminster Cathedral, Cardiff Castle, Dover Castle, Plymouth Hoe, the NEC and Wembley.

I really enjoy performing, conducting and teaching - all three skills I use to the pupil's advantage.

In 2001, I formed what is now the very successful Wessex Male Choir, whom have since won many competitions on the International stage, and which is still growing in size (now 60 choristers strong!), musical ability and popularity. See our website

In 2005, TV & Radio Presenter and singing star Aled Jones, became the choir's patron.

I have arranged lots of music for Male Choirs and some solely for Wessex.

Academic experience: I have worked in private tutoring, state and private schools, university departments and know how examiners mark and what they expect. After studying Physics at the University of Bristol, I have spent the past 10 years working in the field of sustainable buildings. Alongside my professional career, I spent five years working as a private tutor between 2016 and 2021. I have taught all aspects of learning a language: listening, reading, writing and speaking. I am currently working in a voluntary role teaching English to Ukrainian guests in my local town, as well as tutoring my daughter in French for her GCSE exams.

Tutoring Approach:
I am kind and patient and like to create a comfortable atmosphere where students feel they can have a go at using their new language. My psychology background enables me to explore the best method of learning for each individual. My lessons focus on communicating effectively in the real world for good general understanding and improving pronunciation in spoken English (which also helps improve listening skills). I can also set tasks in between sessions if students wish so they can progress quicker. This is generally how I approach lessons, but they would be tailored to your preferences. My name is Irina but in the artist's world, I am known as an artist Irisha.
I have been drawing and painting professionally for 14 years. Most of the time I am creating my paintings with pastels and throughout my carrier as an artist, I learned quite a lot about this medium and how to use it to achieve the desired results. I also work with oils. But my private lessons will be concentrated on creating pastel artworks.
I am specializing in pet portraits but I also have done quite a lot of people's portraits and landscapes.

Teaching Experience:
I have a University degree in teaching and in the past I had a good experience in private tutoring on general subjects. Throughout my art carrier, I had private art classes occasionally but I didn't have much time to take it to the bigger scale.
Now that I have got my own studio and a big bag of knowledge as well as more time I am happy to share my experience!

Tutoring Approach:
I will base my lessons according to your experience and wishes. During my tutoring time, I will provide you with a 45 min of knowledge and experience about pastels. We will learn about this medium and will experiment with different styles, I will share with you all the useful tips I learned from my own experience. You will learn how to professionally paint portraits with pastels whether it is a pet portrait, a people's portrait or a landscape. If you would like to paint the portrait of your own subject I am happy to use your photo as a reference, otherwise, I will provide you with a selection of topics/subjects which will help you to become more advanced and confident in working with pastels. For the first two lessons, I will provide you with all the professional art materials you need and then if you would like to carry on with your lessons I would give you a list of necessary items to get.

I achieved 3 A*s at A-Level in Maths, Politics and Economics, as well as 8 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s at GCSE. I am strongly committed to academic success and hugely passionate about teaching.
