Hey I'm Abdul. I'm currently studying Computer Science at the University of Leeds. I passed my 11+ and attended Wilson's School and I absolutely loved my time there. When studying for my GCSE's, I struggled quite a lot with Chemistry and so I decided to get a tutor. After a few months of receiving tuition, there was a noticeable improvement in my grades and I achieved a grade 9 in Chemistry GCSE and later on studied it for A-level and achieved a grade A. I was very thankful to my tutors and teachers as I could not have done well in my studies without them.

During my time at sixth form, I volunteered to tutor GCSE students in my school. I later on taught some students outside of school for 1 year and it allowed me to build a long term relationship with my students and be able to actually see improvements in their grades and confidence in that subject. This was an extremely rewarding feeling for me and is what motivates me as a tutor.

I make a conscious effort to ensure I am not just catering for visual learners like myself, but try to see lessons through other learners' eyes. For example, to introduce pictograms to numeracy entry level class, I got the learners to create 'human pictograms' arranged by name length, pets, eye colour, etc. and then transferred that information as pictograms to the board. Kinaesthetic learners were thereby catered for in the physical movement and manipulation, visual learners in the pictograms created on the board and audio learners as we discussed and interpreted the graphs.

An example of how I have successfully used real life situation was with a GCSE class, working out the area of the classroom to decide the correct amount of carpet needed for the classroom. The other very important aspect for me is making sure that the level of proficiency is correctly assessed. If the classes are too challenging or too basic, a negative environment not conducive to learning is created. Even if proper evaluation is made before the groups are formed, there will always be differences inside the classroom. I, as a teacher, try to be as aware as possible of this factor and strive to use that for the good of the group. Pairing a strong student with someone not as strong usually helps. Another important issue that I try to be as aware as possible is preventing the strong students from taking over the exercises and leaving behind other students that, because of either lack of confidence or not being at the same level, stop themselves from actively participating in class. In my classes, I make sure that everyone is heard and that I can evaluate progress of all my students.

I provide private Watercolour, Acrylic, oil painting and drawing lessons for beginners to advanced students at my Kings Heath studio. I will teach you everything you need to know, landscape, Flowers painting, life painting still life, technique of painting to technicalities of drawing. I am happy with one to one session and small groups are welcome as well. Also available for workshops, demonstrations and lectures.

Teaching Experience:
I have more than 20 years teaching experience as a fine art lecturer. Many of my students are now working on senior positions. Now I am working as an art tutor independently and also working with Independent Art School Birmingham. I also have experience working with adults.

I enjoy working with others in their projects and I like engaging them in mine. Good team work is essential for me. I have great experience in communicating with people of different cultures and backgrounds.

I completed my degree in Maths, Statistics, and Economics. My passion for data handling spurred me towards a Master degree in Statistics. After two years research work in Statistics, I chose my career as a Maths Teacher.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Maths for 16 years at all levels. My expertise is in A-levels and GCSE Maths. I worked as an examiner with leading exam boards in the UK and internationally which includes Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), OCR and AQA. Working with exam boards has given me a thorough understanding of examination criterion overall. I can benefit the student with my deep understanding of the subject and how it is assessed.

Tutoring Approach:
I strongly believe that Maths can be taught with daily life experiences in many cases if not all. I also believe teaching is more about engaging and sharing than just giving.

My background:
After gaining 3 A levels (Pure Maths, Applied Maths and Physics), I worked as a Climate Data Analyst for the weather office for about 10 years where they sponsored me for my HNC Maths. I am also a financial technical analyst and have several years live trading experience. I have voluntary teaching experience abroad in refugee camps and orphanages. I also have teaching experience amongst friends and family.

Teaching Experience:
After many years of work experience, I am keen to pass on my knowledge. My teaching experience has been limited to friends and family and also to work holiday periods when I travelled abroad to teach in refugee camps and orphanages. I am keen to teach on a more permanent basis now.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to build confidence in the student by ensuring they get the right knowledge, guidance and a lot of practice! Most people can understand, but due to lack of motivation, discipline and procrastination, they end up creating psychological barriers. Simply committing to a tuition session will help focus the mind. My job will then be to make sure the student gets the knowledge, guidance and practice they need to build their confidence and hence to succeed.

Personal Description:
I am an extremely well qualified and experienced teacher of modern languages. I worked in many schools in the UK and for the most part as head of MFL. I also worked in China and Germany teaching English. Since retiring from full time teaching I have been teaching private lessons. I have extensive knowledge of the GCSE and A level courses and I have been very successful with my students. On average their grades have improved by at least two from their mock exams.

Teaching Experience:
I started teaching after leaving university when I went to China and worked for a United Nations Development Project. I then worked for a private language school in Germany. I became a qualified teacher and worked in several schools in Essex. I quickly worked my way up the ranks and became Head of Modern Languages. My last full time position was as Head of MFL at Medina College on the Isle of Wight. Since then I have been successfully teaching private lessons to students aged 5 to adults.

Tutoring Approach:
I use a variety of techniques adapted to my student's needs. I like to make my lessons fun and interactive. I follow the syllabus closely in the case of exam students and make sure that students are confident in all four skills. I elicit information from the students rather than just teach them how something works. By using this method students are more likely to retain the knowledge. I am happy to teach students individually or in pairs or groups.
