Teaching .. my true vocation in life. If someone were to ask me what is the best thing I can do with my life, I would answer without any doubt "Teaching". I love teaching and learning at the same time, in fact, I usually say that I cannot remember a day in my life without studying or learning something new.

I consider myself reliable, methodical, punctual with friendly manners and empathic.

Teaching Experience:
Today I am teaching Spanish at Hinckley & Nuneaton College. Additionally, I teach privately and I deliver Spanish tailored courses to companies such as Jaguar and public institutions such as the National Crime Agency (NCA). I collaborated as a Spanish teacher with Sidney Stringer Academy (GCSE) when I was completing my Diploma in Education and Training at the University of Warwick. Additionally, I obtained my QTLs (Qualified Teacher Status) and become a professional membership of the Education and Training Foundation.


I have enjoyed teaching Spanish to people of all ages, the youngest being just 4 years old and the oldest being over 70. I teach all levels, from complete beginners, young learners, GCSE, A' Level or degree level as well as adults wishing to learn a few phrases for holidays or business trips, or people who plan to live in Spain.

I have a large experience in several schools in Spain and in private education as well. Additionally, I taught in an Adult Education Public Centre where I helped students with their university access exams (Literacy, Maths and Science).

In addition, I taught several modules of programming: J2EE, PHP, C++ POO, C, PL/SQL, MySQL and Oracle DDBB. I developed web applications including shopping cards, using Mode-View-Controller architecture pattern, PDO, Sql, Singleton pattern, OOP, CSS, Dreamweaver, Html, XML, Doxygen, UML …etc. I have a Master Degree in Java and I developed websites with Struts, Ibatis, Spring, JSP, JQuery ....

Furthermore, I taught Spanish language to Erasmus Students in my country.

Tutoring Approach:
I make my lessons as interactive and enjoyable as possible using all kind of activities, flashcards, games, music, art and stories. It is amazing how quickly children, teenager and adults pick up the language in a natural way, without stress. I try to teach not only a language but also the Spanish lifestyle, cuisine, customs and culture.

I have had experience working in both the public (5 years) and private sectors (6 years) of education and have taught students of different age groups which has enabled me to develop the skills and abilities required to be able to encourage and promote the students best potential. I am able to set priorities, identify problems and focus my attention and energy on resolving these issues. Most importantly, I like to find new and creative ways of teaching that motivate and encourage the students to learn in an enjoyable and challenging environment.

A good classroom session is never the result of improvisation or chance, so, I have made this my motto "90 percent of transpiration, 10 percent talent" for organizing, planning contents, goals, time, procedures and of course paying special care and attention to diversity in the class, adapting myself to the real needs of the pupils.

I completed Nuclear Power Engineering degree studies in 1990 after 6 years of training in Havana and Moscow. Between 1990 and 2004, I worked as a Biomedical researcher in the fields of Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Vaccine Development. This involves collaboration with many European and American research teams and working visits to leading Biomedical centres in UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Spain including several UK Royal Society Fellowships and a UK Wellcome Trust International Travelling Post-doctoral Fellowship at Glasgow University Division of Immunology/Microbiology, which can be followed up by publication in peer-review scientific journals. Since 2006, I have been teaching Mathematics at GCSE and A-levels in the UK and currently, I am teaching at these levels plus International Baccalaureate Level. I have been an external marker (Mathematics in English and Spanish languages) for the International Baccalaureate Organisation for the last two years. Born in Cuba, Spanish is my mother tongue, thus i am able to tutor at any level in these two subjects: Mathematics and Spanish.

Teaching Experience:
In the last 14 years, I have had the opportunity to teach both in Scotland and England, thus I am familiar with mathematics teaching programmes in both locations. I'm a teacher that's trained in identifying problems specific to the way yours Spanish and adapt the lessons to turn those weaknesses into strengths! I take each of the skills needed in the exam, look at how the skill works, why it's important, start with simpler examples before working up to exam level examples.

Through this step by step approach, we work together to build up your confidence for not only the exam, but also for a life afterwards using Spanish more naturally day to day. I will never rush you through any of the skills and only move onto the next part of the practice. Your pace matters as I'd like you to enjoy the classes, and not just learn from them.

I am a Primary teacher with four years experience. I am 24 years old, based in Wishaw and I am happy to travel.

Teaching Experience:
I am a classroom practitioner with four years of teaching experience. I am currently a class teacher in a primary school in North Lanarkshire. I have extensive experience working with a range of ages in stages in the primary sector. In addition, I have also taught children with a range of additional support needs and can tailor my teaching methods to meet the needs of each individual learner. I am a passionate teacher who will support children and provide them with engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

Tutoring Approach:
I provide a personalised approach to each of the learners that I tutor. I adopt a holistic approach to teaching, getting to know the learner and assessing their academic needs thoroughly, before planning and implementing a personalised programme of work. I will use a combination of written and active methods of teaching to engage the learner and make the subject more enjoyable. I use current approaches in line with Curriculum for Excellence (CfE). I collaborate with parents to provide weekly updates on progress and also use realistic goals both long-term and short-term.
