I am 36 years old and graduated from Leeds University with a 2:1 degree in Spanish Langauge and Literature with an accredited distinction in speaking. I spent a year in Murcia working for the British Council teaching English to Spanish students aged from 11-17. Previously,I taught English for a year while working for the British Council in Murcia, Spain. In addition to the language assistant role I also privately tutored 6 students whilst living in Spain, the ages ranged from 11 to an adult learner and each session was tailored to suit their needs.
Whilst at University I completed a City and Guilds Professional Development Award in Education, this required working on a mentoring programme with a GCSE student and documenting their progress.

¡Hola! I am Alba. I was born in the south of Spain and have lived there for the majority of my life. I did Spanish Studies as a degree in Huelva (near Seville), and later enrolled in an MA for Spanish Teaching as a Foreign Language in my home town, Granada. I then moved to the UK to work as an Assistant Teacher of Spanish in London, which led me to taking the PGCE course and acquiring Qualified Teacher Status. I am currently a teacher of Spanish at Secondary level in inner Birmingham.

Back in Spain I used to teach in an independent school in Ronda (Málaga), where we offered from one-to-one lessons to small classes of beginners to advanced level, and I absolutely loved it. In my experience, my students thrive in a more personalised environment of their choosing.

Hello my name is Anne-Marie, I am from Ireland but have been living in the UK since 2004. This is now a place I call home. I realised I had a flare for imparting knowledge when I became a basketball trainer at 15, working with Primary and Secondary pupils.
