My specialism is 19th & 20th century history and I am especially knowledgeable about British and American history. I am married, with one son and stepson. I am originally from the Nottinghamshire area and moved back to the East Midlands two years ago to settle in Ilkeston with my family.

I studied at Huddersfield University as a mature student and achieved both a B.Sc and an M.Sc in Behavioural Sciences, which is a joint degree in Sociology and Psychology. (I can also tutor at this level in modern history, politics and international relations). I have BA in sociology and politics from Oxford Brookes University and an MSc in social science research methods from Sussex. I completed my doctorate at the University of Warwick. In addition to my university work, I have tutored for a private agency (where I held an advanced CRB certificate) at A-level in sociology, politics and modern history. My last DBS was held from 2023 to 2024.
