Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Mairead (pronounced ma-raid, an Irish name meaning Margaret). I am a 26 year old living in Feltham, I work full time as a Disability Advisor and Autism Specialist Mentor supporting higher education students to access reasonable adjustments, provide pastoral support and advice. I also co-run workshops and events for the university I work for. I usually teach a student once per week, but if it is necessary, I am willing to top it up by teaching the same student twice a week even. I also offer the first lesson at half price as a an introductory lesson.

I'm currently working at a 2:1 standard on an interdisciplinary degree at the University of Nottingham. This program allows me to weave a rich academic tapestry, blending sociology, politics, theology, and more.

From a young age I've held a deep love for learning, and I would be genuinely thrilled to facilitate it in others. I have also practised this kind of skill through my presentations. Meanwhile, as a member of my college's student union I developed educational displays for the Black and LGBT+ History Months.

Alongside high academic grades in the subjects I hope to tutor, I have other subject expertise. I have done volunteering and paid work with multiple charities, written a screenplay for Film Studies A Level as well as several successful articles, and written and delivered a speech to the Mayor of London about knife crime. These achievements demonstrate my experience with sociological and political issues, film studies, and English.

As a course representative for A Level Sociology at my college's open evenings, I did a lot of explaining and demystifying sociology to people who were coming in at various starting points ranging from those having done the GCSE to those having never heard of it. Several prospective students and their parents came in sceptical, unaware of what sociology was let alone its value, and came away interested in potentially studying it.

I've certainly practised patience when it comes to looking after my friend's younger brother! Besides this, I have cultivated a lot of this virtue through working with a variety of customers in my retail work. We had some regular visitors who were dealing with mental health difficulties which especially allowed me to grow my compassion.

Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy finding ways to explain things to people that makes the complicated, easy. What I think sets me apart is my philosophy. Education isn't a one-size-fits-all process. It's a personal journey, and everyone has their unique rhythm and route. Whatever aspect of the subject is proving challenging, whether that's understanding the concepts or working according to the mark scheme, I hope to help students overcome it in a way that works for them and gets them a grade they truly deserve. I would point the way and show them examples at each step.

Not a single person in this world sees things exactly the same way; I would show my students how to take the ideas in their head and to synthesise pieces of evidence and analyse the content in an academic and structured way to get their points across with impact. My intention is not simply to share my techniques but rather to use them as a springboard and get to know my students so that, together, we can figure out ways of studying that really work for them.

I know school can be tough- seriously, I've been there. My aim is not to dictate, but to guide, to help students understand their subject in a new light. I want to delve into the curriculum in a way that makes it click, that reframes how my students see it.

Hi! I am a 21 year old University student studying Childhood and Youth Studies at the University of Sussex. I studied English Literature, History, Sociology and Biology at A Level and got really high scores on my GCSEs and A Levels. I want to be a primary school teacher when I finish university.

I have over 2 years experience tutoring all ages. I tutor both privately and through an agency. I have experience tutoring those with behavioural difficulties and other alternative needs. I am currently completing more teaching qualifications and teaching courses to maximise teaching experiences for students.

I want to take a flexible approach. I believe all students are different and the way that you learn best is the best way to teach someone. People know what helps them and it is important to listen. My name is Kierri & I've been a professional tutor for the last 15 years. I genuinely love to learn and believe I learn as much from my students, as they do from me. I'm a writer & a poet & though young people don't always favour these topics, I believe my passion for English, really inspires and motivates students and if they don't catch the inspiration for learning, their grades naturally raise as they go along. I've dedicated my professional life to teaching & I much prefer teaching students one on one. They get the generalised teaching at school & then they get the attention they truly deserve in the comfort of their own homes. Schools teach students to pass exams, I tutor to encourage a love for learning and overall development. I am a dedicated and passionate teacher currently working with primary 1/2 students, and I have had experience working with children of all ages. I am GTC registered and have an PVG to work with children. Outside of the classroom, I have been involved in Girl Guiding and have had various opportunities to engage with children in different school settings.
