I have been in Edinburgh for almost 11 years and have been a tutor in Russian, freelance interpreter and translator for all this time. I participated as a tutor in English in the Presidential Programme of Russia by giving lectures on Business English for top managers, directors of companies and firms and businessmen to take part in international business as Russia opened up to worldwide and free trade. 10 of my former students went onto internships in Greece, Italy, Denmark, Germany and Japan after finishing this programme. I am the author of four scientific publications in the field of linguistic relations in Russian, English and Tatar.

While living in the UK I have worked as a freelance tutor and translator for Scottish&Newcastle, Scottish Parliament, NHS and Rudolf Steiner School. I am really proud of the fact that among my students are people of different ages, knowledge of Russian and purposes of learning it and who are professionals in different fields for example in language and science teaching, sales and marketing, medical research, social work, to name just a few.

Always try to make students interested in the subject I teach. Create a ftiendly and an encouraging learning environment. Not afraid to praise them even if they do not get immediate good results. Tend to get feedback from them. Plan carefully each lesson. Use the Internet and PC in preparing for lessons. I have been working as a Russian language teacher at school in London for the past 15 years. I have been online for 3 years now. I am working with children: preschool, primary and secondary ages. I am preparing students for the GCSE exam and working with adults who are interested in Russian language. I like teaching, it is interesting, fun and I always try to help my students as much as possible so that they can speak Russian fluently. I have lived working in the UK since 2006. I have substantial experience working with children of primary ages and their families.
I helped second-year boy to achieve his excellence in math and he was able to jump over a year ahead, and tuned up his sister.
Although I had my best experience in one-to-one tutoring (for young Latvian girl), I believe the most effort is to be gifted by family.

Hey! I'm Elena, a native Russian speaker living in the South-East of England with my family. I've been deeply passionate about teaching English and Russian since 1996 when I started my own language school in Russia. The joy of running my school led me to explore languages and cultures.

After moving to the UK, I continued teaching English. When my daughter was born, I faced the challenge of teaching her Russian in an English-speaking environment where even Russian kids speak English. Determined to make it work, I dove into innovative techniques for teaching Russian as a foreign language.
