I currently lecture at the University of Salford and have over 28 years of teaching experience. I have been tutoring privately for over a decade. I began teaching in a professional capacity whilst working in a hospital environment where I became a Clinical Educator for undergraduate Physiotherapy students from Universities in the region. The first session will include an informal discussion with parents/tutee to gain an understanding of the tutee's requirements and to explain my role and how I can aid learning. The tutee largely dictates the structure of the sessions, including the subjects they wish to focus on and their preferred learning style, which can be discussed during the first session. As the student develops, the structure can be adapted accordingly.

I decided to start tutoring after my experience in trying to get tutors for my own children. I believe that by engaging with each student on a cognitive level, I am able to establish a positive rapport with them.
