I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to understand something they thought was beyond them. Study skills tutoring: I provide this as an agreed package where I am your child's 'exam buddy' for a period of time. This involves me supporting your child through a stressful time in their lives. I help them to plan their time and create revision timetables, plans, resources and so on. I would check in with them on agreed days/ times via skype to see how they are doing with their studies and revision on the lead up to exams and assessments and help to support them through this. I provide this for students working towards any assessments such as 11+, GCSE's A'Levels and any other level 2 or 3 courses. This is a holistic educational support service for a fixed period. My Pug 'Tiggy' often joins in with the skype for younger students which can support them in keeping it fun and interesting and help them to stay on target. I also include anti-stress resources, stress busting techniques, basic mindfulness skills, breaking down stress barriers worksheets, tips and discussions. I have a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and I've taught students all the way from university to primary school in a number of subject areas. I also have an MPhil in Philosophy from Cambridge and a BA (Philosophy) /BSc (Biology) from the University of Auckland.

I am a qualified counsellor with a background in Psychology and I run a small private therapy practice alongside tutoring and teaching. I therefore have a lot of real life examples to use during my Psychology tutoring specifically as I am an active professional member of the mental health field. I am registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, as well as the Association of Christian Counsellors, which means I have a good working knowledge of ethics frameworks and current and up to date professional practice and code of conduct.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking, hiking, camping, listening to music, attending church and volunteering, creative projects and reading. I also like to travel, although I don't get chance to do it as much these days as I would like to!
