I initially qualified as a barrister in 1986. I decided to re-qualify as a solicitor in 1990 and have worked as a solicitor ever since, covering many areas of civil and criminal law. More recently, I have specialised in criminal law. After obtaining a 2:1 Llb degree in 1985, I finished in the top 10th percentile in the Bar Exams in 1986. I retired in 2021.

I have a First Class law degree from the University of Oxford and have almost 10 years of tutoring experience. At university, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Oxford University Undergraduate Law Journal. During my time at Oxford, I also published an article in the journal which was awarded the 'Best Private Law' prize, as adjudicated by the former President of the Supreme Court, Lord Neuberger. Tuition for the SQE1 professional qualification exams (FLK1 and FLK2). Having taken the exams myself (passing first time in the first quintile) I understand how demanding the revision process is, and how intellectually and physically taxing the exams can be, especially for those unfamiliar with closed-book multiple choice exams, all the more so for non-native English speakers. I achieved my NQT status at the Blue School, Wells and held the leadership responsibilty for Citizenship Yr 7 to Yr 11. I also taught KS3 to KS5 History throughout my time there. In 2010 my son was born, moving to West Somerset as Head of History (again KS3 to KS5). I retired in 2017 to care for my youngest son, who in 2013 was born with Cerebral Palsy.
