At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography. I have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary photographic practices and of theoretical approaches to the subject, and also have a strong technical grounding both in traditional and in digital processes. I am experienced in all stages of the development of photographic projects, from early conceptualisation through to printing and exhibiting.I have exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows. I am an experienced teacher of both classics and modern languages, and have taught in a variety of secondary schools. I have stopped classroom teaching now but I am keen to carry on teaching in a different capacity. I am passionate about languages, words and communication and love to share this with others. Teaching Experience:

Tutoring Approach:
Successful language teaching should combine a fun approach using oral practice including song lyrics and games with a more structured approach to grammar; this gives the student confidence that they really understand the language used. The advantage of private lessons is that I can focus on what the individual learner wants, which might be lots of oral practice to become more proficient at speaking, or to pass a specific exam. I do like to set homework from week to week as this is an important part of progress; but it is not compulsory!

I am Alexandra, a native and qualified Greek and Russian teacher and interpreter. I hold an MA in Russian from the University of Glasgow with distinction in Spoken Russian and a BA in Ancient & Modern Greek from Democritus University of Greece. Additionally, I have a Certificate in Public Service Interpreting from Glasgow Clyde College. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I specialise in helping students of all levels excel in both Greek and Russian.

Teaching Experience:
For the past decade, I have had the pleasure of combining my work as a professional interpreter with my passion for teaching Greek and Russian as foreign languages. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling. I've taught students of all ages and backgrounds, from young learners to adults, and have successfully helped many pass important language certifications such as the GCSE, TORFL, and the Certification of Attainment in Greek.

What excites me the most is seeing my students' confidence grow as they develop the ability to communicate in a new language. Each lesson is a step towards unlocking a new world of opportunities - whether it's for travel, work, or academic success.
