Successful language teaching should combine a fun approach using oral practice including song lyrics and games with a more structured approach to grammar; this gives the student confidence that they really understand the language used. The advantage of private lessons is that I can focus on what the individual learner wants, which might be lots of oral practice to become more proficient at speaking, or to pass a specific exam. I do like to set homework from week to week as this is an important part of progress; but it is not compulsory!

During the last two years I have been teaching different courses at the University of Leicester, acquiring a strong experience in dealing with students. I will have a different approach according to the language I will be teaching. For Italian, I will use a communicative approach. On the other side, since Latin and Ancient Greek are extinct languages I will use a more traditional approach. I've been living in England since 2013. I'm a native Greek speaker. Grown up in Greece and graduated from the Panteion University, in Athens, with a degree in Political Science and International Law and Politics.

Teaching Experience:
Practiced English private tutoring for children in Greece for 6 years and I have been teaching the Greek language in England since 2015.

Tutoring Approach:
Evaluation of the student's knowledge of the language and then adopting a flexible program of teaching, in order to achieve the best
performance by the student, at any time. Patience and very good knowledge of the Greek language and etymology of the Greek words, ensure excellent results!

I am a highly experienced language educator with a degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. For the past 30 years, I have been teaching both Modern Greek and Classical Greek to learners of various ages and backgrounds. My teaching approach combines a strong foundation in grammar and language structure with an appreciation for Greek culture and history, aiming to make lessons both educational and engaging. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their language skills while deepening their understanding of Greece's linguistic heritage.

I graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and have since worked in various educational settings, including schools, colleges, and private tuition.
