After teaching in different countries for 10 years I am now living back in England. Tutoring Approach:
I am patient and always professional and punctual. Together we will high light the goals you want to achieve. Lesson topics can range from job interview questions and meetings, to discussions based on newspaper and magazine articles, general social conversation, pronunciation and grammar. Alternatively if you have anything you need checked or problems you may have (e.g. an email or presentation) this will be the lesson topic; your needs come first.

Warm Up: I will present the material to you, explain any words, phrases you don't know, and answer any questions that you have.

Main Body: Discussion session - the majority of which will be the student talking with me, your tutor giving grammar and pronunciation corrections.

Wrap Up: Review new vocabulary and grammar from the lesson. Introduce some material for the next lesson.

Hey! I'm Elena, a native Russian speaker living in the South-East of England with my family. I've been deeply passionate about teaching English and Russian since 1996 when I started my own language school in Russia. The joy of running my school led me to explore languages and cultures.

After moving to the UK, I continued teaching English. When my daughter was born, I faced the challenge of teaching her Russian in an English-speaking environment where even Russian kids speak English. I have been working in the pharmaceutical industry for 2 years in process control and regulatory affairs. In these roles, I have written scientific summaries for public dissemination, including industry guidance and legal representations submitted to court. Additionally, I have responded directly to inquiries from members of the public, effectively communicating complex ideas in clear, accessible language. I have strong IT skills and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks.

I have a comprehensive academic background in biological sciences, holding both a BSc and an MSc in the subject area. I have always studied in the UK and I have two siblings, one younger and one older, who have done the same. This has allowed me to observe the evolution of the national curriculum over the years and stay well-acquainted with it. I also believe my solid subject knowledge makes me capable of working to any changes. I am passionate about education and fostering a love for learning in students.

Outside of science, I have rather varied interests and hobbies. I enjoy keeping fit and go rock climbing regularly with friends.
