I graduated from Cambridge University with a BA in English Literature, and then from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating with a BA in acting, where I was the recipient of the Noel Coward Scholarship from 2008-2011. In July 2011 I won the Michael Bryant Award at the National Theatre, for verse speaking and Shakespeare.

Also at this time I ran Welsh language games sessions for primary children in non-first-language schools to improve and encourage their use of the language outside of the classroom environment.

Whilst at secondary school I taught reading skills to children who had low reading-ages.

I wrote a thesis on the connections between Maths and acting whilst at Guildhall.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is tailored to the individual's needs; firstly finding ways of fully explaining a concept, then cementing them with useful and memorable material to build students' confidence. My main objective would be to aid the student in understanding not only the specifics of the work but also the broader aspects of it, which I believe provides a truer grounding in - and enjoyment of - a subject. By making the work useful and enjoyable, and by finding alternative and effective approaches to study, I hope that my tuition will shed new light on subjects for students.

My passion is building confidence and fostering resilient approaches to problem solving.

I specialise in tutoring Maths and particularly enjoy helping those students whose confidence in the subject has become a barrier to their learning and enjoyment of the subject.

As Senior Teacher/ Teacher in Charge, of a Medical Pupil Referral Unit I headed up a dedicated team of skilled teachers who worked with young people on a 1:1 and small group basis. I am well aware of the current concerns with the mental health of young people and aim to support those I work with in a positive and sensitively focused manner. I have been a tutor for over 15 years. Along the way, I have learnt a lot about the role and how significant it can be. For some students, I am a mentor for their whole educational experience whilst others see me as a specialist in one area.

Alongside tutoring, I am a professional actor (hence the posey photo!) and have recently worked at the National Theatre and onscreen. I am making proper use of my solid background in engineering and my experience as a student in many different institutions around Europe by giving private tutorials to students. - In spring 2019 I attended a 3 month international advanced training course on the Lecoq pedagogy of movement theatre led by master Giovanni Fusetti in Padua, Italy, which incredibly deepened and refined my understanding of the student/teacher relation and enormously widened the ways I can adapt and carry out a class according to the personality and the needs/goals of the students. 430h of training.

- Since I moved to London I have taught Italian to many people, students, casual learners, people seeking accents reductions....from an English couple who have travelled to Italy many times, are really fond of the culture but have never got down to learning the language, to a Japanese woman who lives in the City and has working relationships with Italy. - In 2008 I worked as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten in Reykjavk for 8 months. This kindergarten had a special program of integration between kids with special needs (especially hearing impaired ones) and kids with no special requirements, which showed to be very successful. Besides assisting the teachers in taking care of the children daily, I was responsible of having a short weekly session to introduce children to English as a foreign language through playing and singing, which turned out to be very appreciated and great fun.

Teaching is, without any doubt, one of the most important jobs ever. This might sound a cliche but it is what I really think. With almost 30 years spent as a student to gain two university degrees, I have encountered teachers form all over the world and experienced the most different teaching methods. A teacher can make the difference in a persons life, in a good or in a bad way. A good teacher can be a source of inspiration and can make you love a subject that you would have never imagined you could like otherwise. I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I am a 35 year Principal teacher living in Glasgow. I relocated from Blackpool 11 years ago! I have a degree in drama followed by a post graduate degree in primary education from Lancaster; as well as various sports coaching qualifications.

I have just come out of fulltime education at East 15 acting school and am looking to get into teaching. Having recently done an online cause to become a member of learning support staff I have acquired a large variety of skills needed to go into education. My passion is acting and hope to continue with a full BA course in it at some point in the future. As well as acting I also have a love for English as a subject and have become an avid writer over the course of the last few months. While it has been difficult with the limitations of Covid 19 I hope to be able to support learners who have an interest in these subjects or simply need help in order to meet their goals in them.

Teaching Experience:
My most recent teaching work has been in training as part of Activate learning at Reading college. These extensive online meetings have focused on equipping me with skills to deal with many different kinds of learners. Sessions on supportive learning, diversity, autism and other learning challenges have allowed me an excellent understanding of many learning styles. As a result I am very flexible in my approach to supporting learners and happy to work around what best works for them. For in person teaching I have experienced first hand experts in theatre and drama as part of my East 15 course. Tutoring Approach:
I am less interested in simple academic tutoring and more concerned with the relevance of the subject to the students actual life. I want to enrich the student's life by using the subject to better understand themselves and the world around them. As far as Film Studies are concerned, my interest lies in helping the student to see film as a user-manual for actual living. Therefore I see Italian 50s neo-realism as pertinent as the latest Mission Impossible movie. Ideally the student's exploration of the subject is an exploration of themselves.
With photography I teach that a photograph is a language whether is modern expressionalistic, surreal or journalistic. We have to try to understand what the photographer is in fact seeing. Don McCullin and Man Ray are both expressing not only a critique of the outside world but are providing a window into themselves, their deeper nature.
With drama I want the student to experience somehow what the actor is experiencing of what the director wants the audience to feel and/or learn. I'm particularly interesting in conveying the immediate appeal of Peter Brook and finding out, with the student, where Brook and all the other dramatic explorers, what they are saying to us and where they want to take us.

18 year old A level student and high achiever at GCSE looking to help younger students.
I am currently studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in the UK and have a strong passion for my studies.
I'm very much into my sport and exercise, I play wheelchair basketball for Plymouth Fusion and enjoy going to the gym a few times a week for how it makes me feel. I'm an overall advocate for all people (but particularly young people) taking care of their own physical and mental health through the right activities and approach to life.
Also, I enjoy playing music, mainly singing, as well as acting. I have performed in various shows and concerts in my school throughout the years which is something I really enjoy and a great way to boost my own confidence.
Finally, at the beginning of 2022, I began a YouTube channel with the aim of helping people start good habits (like that of studying) and build positive mindsets to approaching life in an enriching way.
