- In spring 2019 I attended a 3 month international advanced training course on the Lecoq pedagogy of movement theatre led by master Giovanni Fusetti in Padua, Italy, which incredibly deepened and refined my understanding of the student/teacher relation and enormously widened the ways I can adapt and carry out a class according to the personality and the needs/goals of the students. 430h of training.

- Since I moved to London I have taught Italian to many people, students, casual learners, people seeking accents reductions....from an English couple who have travelled to Italy many times, are really fond of the culture but have never got down to learning the language, to a Japanese woman who lives in the City and has working relationships with Italy. - In 2008 I worked as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten in Reykjavk for 8 months. This kindergarten had a special program of integration between kids with special needs (especially hearing impaired ones) and kids with no special requirements, which showed to be very successful. Besides assisting the teachers in taking care of the children daily, I was responsible of having a short weekly session to introduce children to English as a foreign language through playing and singing, which turned out to be very appreciated and great fun.

I studied English Literature at Edinburgh University, graduating with a First Class Masters in 1999, before going on to train as an actor at the prestigious London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2001. Since graduating, I have worked extensively as an actor in theatre, television and radio and since 2007 I have worked very closely with acclaimed theatre company The Factory as an associate producer and director as well as an actor. I have a wide-ranging interest in the arts (from contemporary music through to cinema and the visual arts) as well as an active interest in politics and current affairs. I have worked as a free-lance tutor since 2005 and love not only the obvious flexibility it affords but, far more importantly, the mental, creative and social stimulation it provides both me and, hopefully, those I teach.

I have directed several theatre productions at drama schools, fringe and off-west end theatres. As an Associate Director, I have worked in the West End on numerous productions including The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and the Olivier and Grammy-nominated Amelie The Musical. I have also worked at the Royal Shakespeare Company as an Assistant Director on their sell-out show A Christmas Carol starring Adrien Edmondson.

In my early career I taught at Theatrix Performing Arts School and directed students through Trinity College London acting examinations as well as public performances. I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I completed a Master's degree in Performance at Goldsmiths University of London in 2016. Alongside tutoring I have been presenting my work in different venues around the UK, Royal Vauxhall Tavern Hall, Greenside at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Belgrade theatre in Coventry, and the Camden People's Theatre. Of the latter, "Don't F**k with my Unicorn!", Tim Bano wrote for "The Stage:" Gur's montage piece is a bewildering celebration of those quirks -like a unicorn horn that makes us unique -a skewering of contemporary culture at every level"

Teaching Experience:
Since 2015 I have been teaching Hebrew in London, there are great results and moreover Hebrew tutoring provides me with a connection to my roots. In my productions I put an emphasis on the actor or performer and I am experienced in achieving a result that will satisfy me and my actor.
I am hard working and I believe in contributing to my community. For two years I have been donating my time to teach theatre at a religious kindergarten in Tel-Aviv. in 2015, I have taught acting as a volunteer at the CEN8 Organisation in New Cross.

Tutoring Approach:
This add up to his statement that the performer "lives truthfully under given imaginary circumstances", hence, I highlight the tension between the performance actions and the performer's mode on stage.
Together with the performer I encourage building an inner-monologue combined of images and sub-texts, to enrich and create an extra layer to the performance. This technique helps to build a frame work that allow us to develop an organic flow. The use of sub-text enables us to act truthfully, feel organic in the moment and react only to what is happening on stage.

I have been involved in Education for over twenty years and I am especially passionate about the English Language, which is where my expertise lies. I have worked freelance for Iris Theatre, Hoopla, Pzazz and for The Company Sussex and Sasbah. I also teach LAMDA exam preparation at a school in Sussex.

I am a freelance tutor, theatre director, producer and workshop leader based in London. Having graduated in Drama from the University of Bristol in 2012, I have been working for a range of different professional and youth theatre companies since.

As a director, I have worked on numerous plays and musicals with adults and children. I am currently director of a new musical at The BRIT School which will have a 3 week run at Southwark Playhouse this year, recently directed for Youth Music Theatre UK and am developing 2 new musicals. I am the co-founder and director of the theatre company OddFlock. In Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation (previously Close Reading), my experience as an SQA marker provides tutees with an invaluable insight into exam strategies needed for success. Certainly, this experience leads me to use a specific question type / specific formula answer approach. Tutees are encouraged to identify a particular question type, e.g. 'the context question', and then use the appropriate formula to gain maximum marks. Thereafter, the tutee is asked to practise this particular type of question whilst also undertaking whole close reading passages containing said question type.

In the critical examination of literature, particular attention is given to structure and developing a mature, yet fresh, personal response. I tend to adopt a modelling approach. Effectively, the tutee and I draft a first core essay on a given text, say, for example, 'Romeo and Juliet' Using this exemplar, the tutee is then assigned further essay questions, drawing upon this core essay as a guideline. Support is given throughout the writing process and constructive feedback is offered in the form of stage-appropriate targets to ensure progress.

As far as Film Studies are concerned, my interest lies in helping the student to see film as a user-manual for actual living. Therefore I see Italian 50s neo-realism as pertinent as the latest Mission Impossible movie. Ideally the student's exploration of the subject is an exploration of themselves.
With photography I teach that a photograph is a language whether is modern expressionalistic, surreal or journalistic. We have to try to understand what the photographer is in fact seeing. Don McCullin and Man Ray are both expressing not only a critique of the outside world but are providing a window into themselves, their deeper nature.
With drama I want the student to experience somehow what the actor is experiencing of what the director wants the audience to feel and/or learn. I'm particularly interesting in conveying the immediate appeal of Peter Brook and finding out, with the student, where Brook and all the other dramatic explorers, what they are saying to us and where they want to take us.
