After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. I've never looked back!

I am also a freelance examiner for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) - examining is invaluable to my role as a science tutor and to the development of my students' abilities in preparation for their examinations. I will first try to ensure that the concept and the base of the subject is strong before we go on to a number of past paper questions and exercises. I will first see what the student finds most difficult and what their weaknesses are and then strive to overcome them. Each student will have their own learning methods, some may learn by understanding the whole concept then going into the exam questions, some want to go through exam questions while they are learning the concept to see how the theory can be applied to the problems. While I am happy to meet face to face, I find that online tutoring works equally well and has the advantage of being able to record sessions that can be used by the student when revising. The use of interactive whiteboards still provides a great learning experience, and whiteboards can also be saved for the student to use later.

I am a graduate of University of Southampton and Queen Mary University of London. I recieved a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Forensic Medical Science at both of these universities (respectively). Since graduation, I have been volunteering to work with a few GCSE students, focusing on improving their grades and understanding of Maths and Biology. I am most passionate about biology, particularly human biology, physiology, and anatomy and this is where my strengths lie within biology. I am a friendly and approachable tutor with extensive experience in academia, both as a graduate teacher and a student (I'm currently a PhD Psychology student). I am an aspiring Medic currently studying at Imperial College London, I have lived in London my entire life and love all parts of it. I am a judoka training many times a week looking to develop my skill and passion for the sport. I am passionate about learning as a whole and enjoy the endeavour.
