All that I can say is that Ellie is fantastic. When she was teaching myself and my brother A Level Chemistry, she always gave short, concise explanations of concepts in a way that we easily understood. Also, she gave us past paper questions after each topic so that we had plenty of practice at exam technique. She marked these and sent us feedback on what to improve on. This meant that when it came around to do our exams, we were fully prepared for them and confident that we could do well. During lockdown, she was very flexible as she either had online lessons with us or set us exam papers that she marked and sent back to us with details on how to improve. Ellie's tutoring gave us routine Chemistry revision that alleviated pressure and allowed us to balance our time on other A Level subjects. Given the step up in difficulty of the new linear Aqa A Level chemistry course, I couldn't have been happier with the tutoring and support Ellie gave my son. Recently retired. Until the advent of Covid I would always travel to the tutee. I was forced into online tutoring very reluctantly. Being happy with the technology meant the transition was much smoother than I anticipated.

I'm a fully qualified science teacher and the current Head of Biology at a large secondary school. With over 20 years of experience in education, I specialise in helping GCSE students succeed in Biology by building both subject knowledge and exam confidence. I also work as an examiner for AQA GCSE Biology, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for and how to help students maximise their marks.

Teaching Experience:
I've taught Biology across Key Stage 3 and 4, with a particular focus on the AQA GCSE specification. As Head of Biology, I lead curriculum planning, exam preparation, and targeted intervention strategies to support student progress. I also mentor early career teachers and trainee teachers, supporting them to deliver effective and engaging lessons. My work as an AQA examiner gives me valuable insight into how exam questions are marked and how students can approach them with confidence.

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor based in Muswell Hill, with a real passion for helping students in North London and beyond unlock their potential. I currently work part-time at a secondary school in the area, and have previous experience in an independent school in Hampstead. I have also spent valuable time living in Quebec, deepening my cultural and linguistic understanding.

I pride myself on building a strong rapport with students, making lessons both engaging and supportive. I tutor pupils ranging from 6 years old to adult learners in Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, History, Entrance exams and 11+ preparation, including preparation for London day schools.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring the green spaces of Alexandra Park, browsing the independent shops on Muswell Hill Broadway, and swimming. I recently completed the Parkland Walk challenge.

I have also completed supply teaching across London boroughs, as well as a valuable teaching placement in Birmingham.
