I am a London-based artist, with a BA from the Slade and an MA from the Royal College of Art. I exhibit regularly with galleries in the UK and abroad. Residencies include the Abbey Fellowship at the British School at Rome and Palazzo Monti. I have been shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries and the John Moores Painting Prize. In my studio practice I use a range of painting mediums and approaches, including oils, watercolour and fresco.

Teaching Experience:
I teach Drawing and Painting in all mediums. For eight years I was a Core Tutor on the Foundation Year at the Royal Drawing School (now part of the King's Foundation). This involved leading painting workshops, one-to-one tutorials and portfolio guidance.

I have taught art to people of all ages, though predominantly to teenagers and young adults.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach is to work out what the student's needs are, through listening, rather than trying to impose a particular idea. Having said that, I would generally encourage drawing and painting from observation, at least as a foundation for other projects. My strengths are in painting with water colour, oil and acrylic, as well as drawing. I currently Subject Lead in Art and Design in a secondary school in Bishops Stortford and have a first class honours degree in Illustration and extensive skills in digital media including web design, image manipulation and design for print. I studied architecture then moved into the world of film and commercials as a set designer,training at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on Films and Commercials (Production Design,Art Direction and Set Dressing).Drawing skills have always been central to my varied art and design career .

I hold an undergraduate degree in Fine Art, a Master's degree in Creative Practice, and a PGDE in teaching, and I am currently teaching in a high school while also having experience in a college setting.

I absolutely love helping others discover their creativity and develop their confidence, whether that's working towards exams, building a portfolio, or simply enjoying art as a way to relax and express themselves. I pride myself on being patient, supportive, and adaptable to each student's needs. Fully DBS checked, I bring both professionalism and warmth to my lessons, creating a safe and encouraging space where students feel comfortable to learn, grow, and explore their artistic potential.

Teaching Experience:
I have experience teaching both Art and Photography across a range of levels. I am currently a high school teacher, working with students from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and A-Level, and I have also taught in a college setting. This has given me a broad understanding of exam board requirements, assessment criteria, and the skills needed to support learners at different stages of their education.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of students - from those who are just beginning their artistic journey to those preparing portfolios for further study or creative careers. My teaching experience has taught me how to adapt my approach to suit individual needs, ensuring every student feels supported and motivated.

As a fully qualified teacher with a PGDE, an undergraduate degree, and a Master's degree in Art, I bring both subject expertise and practical classroom knowledge. I am also fully DBS checked, giving families peace of mind.

My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand their goals, strengths, and areas for development before shaping lessons around them. Whether a student is preparing for exams, building a portfolio, or exploring art for fun, I create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and inspiring.

I aim to build confidence as well as technical skill, giving students the freedom to experiment while also developing strong foundations in technique. I encourage creativity and independent thinking, helping learners to discover their own artistic voice.

Most importantly, I want tutoring sessions to be enjoyable and motivating. By creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, trying new approaches, and celebrating their progress.
