I am a full time A Level Physics and Mathematics teacher at a Tertiary College. We have about 50 students in each of years 12 and 13. 26 of our Physics students gained grade As at AS Level in 2006. 48% A and A* at A2 Level in June 2011. This is twice the Welsh average which puts us at the top of tree. 67% A*,A or B in 2012 in my class.Three of my students have won the Institute of Physics prize for the highest A Level marks in Wales with several gaining 600/600. I also teach A Level Mathematics (Pure, Mechanics and Statistics) and A Level Electronics. Previously I was head of Mathematics, Computing and Physical Sciences but I preferred teaching to administration so I returned to full-time teaching. I like to entertain and inspire! I am married with three children. I have a wide range of interests from sport to photography.

I am an experienced and well qualified teacher with an enthusiasm for my subject and a real concern for those who struggle with maths. I have helped many get over their fear of maths as well as helping able students to gain Oxbridge places. I have retired to this area where I enjoy living near the sea, and walking. I volunteer at the Regent Centre, sing with the Grange Choral Society and have three grandchildren, two in London and one in USA and spend what time I can with them, using skype to talk to my family in USA. My husband and I both enjoy gardening.

I am an Oxford graduate with more than 20 years of teaching experience in schools including A level maths and further maths (pure, statistics, and with a particular interest in mechanics). I have also given private tutoring for more than 20 years to a large number of pupils studying from SATs to A levels. Many of those I have taught have returned for help with further exams, or have sent their friends to me, so most of my pupils have come through personal recommendation.

In all these years, I have tried to transfer my knowledge to everybody I had sat down to help with his/her economics and business exams (especially accounting and finance). I have provided, and still do when necessary, tuition to members of the family and friends.
Even in College, I have assisted friends in their maths and accounting courses, aiming at helping them understand the methodology that is behind numbers.
I have high confidence in myself that I can succeed in a private teaching/tutoring role. I have always admired young people's minds, and I believe that a teacher's responsibility is to help them both shape them and enrich them within the frame of each individual's personality.

My current position is Lecturer in Finance in one of the leading private business schools in the UK. I am focusing in those areas that I have had a 17 year working experience. I am a recent graduate from The University of Birmingham in Pure Mathematics achieving an upper second class degree (2:1). I was drawn to the field of mathematics from a very young age. I guess that I was intrigued by the vast range of concepts in the real world that can be represented with huge accuracy. From finding hugely accurate values that would be impossible to measure in reality (such as the exact size and direction of the force needed to apply to a golf ball to get a perfect hole in one any time), to hiding information and creating impossible to crack secret codes that can be to hard for the most powerful computers but can be simple enough for any good mathematician to solve with just a pen and paper. Even though it wan't at all necessary, I learnt this, and still enjoy secretly communicating with other students. I also even help other students at the same level as me who didn't completely understand certain areas as well as i did. The same it true that I required help on the topics I couldn't understand well.

Teaching Experience:
My experiences of tuition are that I have spent the last year giving the odd lesson to a few A-Level students that are struggling in mathematics to help raise their grades up. Further, as part of my university experience, i spent one hour per week for a year tutoring disadvantaged students at a local secondary school. I have also had some experience teaching a lower secondary school student some parts of the syllabus she was struggling with.

As a tutor, I will cover all aspects of the course, not only whichever topics are not very well understood. Hi! I'm currently studying Economics at The University of Portsmouth. I'm a competitive table tennis player and love to play football whenever I can. My true passion, however, is tutoring as I feel it is my life's purpose to assist others in helping them to achieve their goals.

-I first tutored at my secondary school's KS3 Maths programme called Route 121, where I first became inspired to become the best tutor possible.

-Due to my performance as a tutor, the school later paid me to teach maths to underachieving students at GCSE.
