April 2005 - March 2006 Freelance Spanish Teacher for novice, beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Institution: ILISA. Panama City - Panama
Tutoring Approach:
The communicative approach centered in developing students' skills and abilities is my preferred tutoring approach, but it depends on the students needs. In the first lesson there is an assessment of competence and a learning style evaluation so I can easily tailor the Spanish course according to the needs of the student.
In all cases, Spanish classes include grammar, written exercises, talking and listening, and the writing practices are carried out through the homework (optional)
Also important the mutual evaluation at the end of each class so that both student and myself can correct/improve something that is not going well in order to fulfill mutual expectations, and have an interesting, funny and efficient Spanish lesson every class.

Personal Description:
I'm a mathematician, living near Glasgow. Until recently, I was a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, Germany. Before Bonn, I held research positions at Université Clermont Auvergne in France and at Lancaster University, and before that, did a doctorate in maths at Oxford. I'm free to offer tuition at my home in maths, and also offer online tutorials.
Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience tutoring Mathematics at the Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher levels (Scottish equivalent of GCSE and A-level), and at AS and A-level. I have also been a teaching assistant and college tutor for several undergraduate Mathematics courses, across a number of topics in algebra and analysis and at all levels, at Oxford. In addition to this teaching experience, I have also assisted in giving undergraduate admissions interviews in Mathematics at Oriel College, Oxford, and so would be able to help students wishing to apply to Oxford in the nature and content of undergraduate maths interviews.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach in tutoring is oriented around the student: their expectations, background knowledge and way of thinking; and what they see as most important to focus on, be it a particular part of mathematics, or a certain type of problem. While it is useful and necessary for students to be familiar with certain recipes and templates for solving different types of problems, ideally, the aim is to give them a deeper understanding of the ideas behind the material they learn and the problems they are set. This provides a much firmer basis for an appreciation of mathematics and a greater problem solving ability.

I have over 20 years of Management experience having worked in a range of industries and organisations.
An inspirational and visionary lecturer with a consistent record of creating innovative strategies that enable students to achieve sustained growth. A reputation for raising professional standards and introducing best practice to improve all round performance. I use a 'hands on' approach and excellent communication skills to empower individuals build lasting relationships, a strong background in delivering solutions and their associated systems and training gained from working in a wide range of levels and institutions. I have facilitated a vision for change and aligned culture and leadership and provided a vision and culture of success
Teaching Experience:
As a Higher education Lecturer I have 12 years of experience from level 3 ( Foundation Year) to level 7 ( Post graduate).
Senior Lecturer of Higher Education Courses in Business & Management
Management Trainer to local business on Business & Management courses
Lecturer for CIPD Level 3-Level 7

Lecturer for CMI (Chartered Management Institute)
Internal Moderator/Verifier
Coordinate and liaise with external examiners and professional awarding bodies
Responsible for application and adherence to quality standards related to curriculum activities
Lead and support colleagues in the development of courses
Tutoring Approach:
I aim to provide a solid grounding in the subject while paying close attention to the needs of the individual. An initial meeting establishes the student's needs and the direction tuition should take. We then begin work on a programme of study which focuses on filling gaps in knowledge and addressing any areas of weakness in some cases we conduct a diagnostic test .
I set regular mile stones/homework and assignments - the quantity varying with how much time the student has - and give feedback the following session.
Tuition generally runs as an independent course running parallel to and complementing what the student is doing at college or university. The programme of study is flexible enough so that we can focus on any upcoming assessments. As the exam or submission date approaches, the focus shifts towards report writing and exam techniques and looking at past papers.
I offer short-term and log term tuition when there is availability, students generally come for a good part of an academic year, often longer.
Over time, I've become convinced that private tuition works not just because of the one-to-one teaching, but because of the relationship between student and tutor. My students generally see significant improvement in their work, and sometimes their results are quite spectacular!

Personal Description:
I am a positive and highly motivated Teacher, who believes in providing support for pupils to gain the key skills necessary to reach their full potential and to be successful. I am knowledgeable and passionate about Psychology, Health & Social Care and Child Care and Early Years Education courses. With my knowledge on memory I have an excellent record of supporting students with revision and exams and enabling them to go onto their GCSE, A'Level, vocational level 2, 3 or 4 courses and desired university courses. I provide high quality support for students with coursework on vocational courses in order for them to achieve their potential and to go on and be successful in their chosen careers.
Teaching Experience:
Psychology Teacher AQA GCSE & A Level also OCR, ED EXCEL
Health and Social Care level 2 & 3, GCSE & A Level (vocational and academic)
Psychology Units on Foundation to Higher Education courses
Child Care levels 2 & 3 GCSE and Vocational level 3
Child Development and Early Years Education Level 3 with practicing knowledge of applications of outdoor learning
ACCESS to HE / Nursing/ Midwifery
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring for exams is to focus specificly on the paper that the student is sitting. The content, how to answer exam questions, memory techniques, revision tips, taking into account all learner styles.
I love Psychology, Health & Social Care and Childcare and Education and really enjoy teaching these subjects so my enthusiasm motivates my students. I typically teach within schools but tutor one to one and also small groups either face to face or electronically. My teaching methodology tends to focus upon the needs of the student/s but would always begin with gaining an understanding of the students current knowledge and any gaps in learning. This ensures they are completely up to date on their understanding of the subject. I work in line with the current specification of what the student is learning and revising for or creating coursework for. I set work for students each session to complete for the following session and give them feedback to ensure they are progressing each time. This is measurable and graded. I also look at tasks they have been set by their school/college and support them with planning so they fully understand the requirements that are needed to gain the best grades they can achieve. I ensure I am available throughout the week with some online support via email and can be contacted via skype also at an additional cost.
Study skills tutoring: I provide this as an agreed package where I am your child's 'exam buddy' for a period of time. This involves me supporting your child through a stressful time in their lives. I help them to plan their time and create revision timetables, plans, resources and so on. I would check in with them on agreed days/ times via skype to see how they are doing with their studies and revision on the lead up to exams and assessments and help to support them through this. I provide this for students working towards any assessments such as 11+, GCSE's A'Levels and any other level 2 or 3 courses. This is a holistic educational support service for a fixed period. My Pug 'Tiggy' often joins in with the skype for younger students which can support them in keeping it fun and interesting and help them to stay on target. I also include anti-stress resources, stress busting techniques, basic mindfulness skills, breaking down stress barriers worksheets, tips and discussions. The study skills/ exam buddy package is charged at a rate dependent upon requirements.
I provide face to face tutoring and skype tutoring with email support throughout the agreed period.

Personal Description:
Hi all, my name is Jack and I am currently a finalist undergraduate at Oriel College, University of Oxford studying for a BA in Literae Humaniores (Oxford's name for Classics) hoping to help people stay on top of their education during a time in which education has been incredibly unstable for many.
I have 3 A stars in my A levels in History, English Literature and History, a mark of 100% in my Extended Qualification Project and 12 a stars in my GCSEs
I have an offer for postgraduate study at Newcastle University starting in September 2023.
Teaching Experience:
Having tutored for four years, I specialise in teaching students of all ages and abilities in Latin, Ancient Greek and wider Classical studies. I have also extensive experience in tutoring History and English to a GCSE standard. Beyond pure academics, I am a successful Oxbridge application tutor, specialising in personal statements and interview preparations for most humanities degrees.
I have tutored all of the UK examination boards (WJEC, AQA, OCR and Pearson), as well as Cambridge Pre-Us. I also am experienced in both GCSE and iGCSEs.
I also have a tailored adult learning programme which is flexible to both students ability but also the part of the Classical World in which they are most interested.
Tutoring Approach:
With my years of tutoring experience, combined with the skills I have developed at Oxford, I am confident in helping my students acquire an in depth understanding of their subjects. I use a range of interactive approaches to tutoring, providing personalised guidance to my students to allow them to reach their full potential. Through a combination of wider language work and a focus on examined content, I believe any student is able to access classical languages. With good, personalised tutoring, I believe these so called "dead" languages can be brought back to life, inspiring students to great success no matter their aims.
With adult learners in mind, my approach tuition is to get to grips with some original texts as soon as possible, since this is why we learn Latin and Greek! Language is the key to unlocking the ancient world and too often classical language teaching misses this, deep in its lexicons and grammar primers. I aim to correct that, by teaching grammar and language skills alongside getting to grips with some of the biggest names of the classical world.

🇯🇵 Friendly & Experienced Japanese Tutor 🇯🇵
Helping learners of all ages enjoy Japanese with confidence!
Hello! My name is Yoko. I was born and raised in Japan, spent seven years living in the UK, and now live in Yokohama.
I enjoy traveling, watching films, reading, and - most of all - connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
I always look forward to hearing what sparked your interest in Japan and the Japanese language!
Teaching Experience:
🌸 Teaching Experience
I've been teaching Japanese online for over five years, and I feel incredibly grateful that many of my students have continued learning with me for a long time.
I also taught Japanese on a leisure course at a college in the UK.
My lessons are friendly, flexible, and tailored to each learner's goals - whether it's speaking more naturally, preparing for an exam, or exploring Japanese culture.
The Japanese language can be somewhat challenging for students to grasp. However, by developing a solid foundation and building a wide vocabulary, the process becomes achievable and rewarding for everyone.
For students who plan to use Japanese in a working environment, I have a strong understanding of both Business Japanese and Japanese business etiquette, and can provide practical, culturally informed lessons.
I aim to offer lessons where you not only enjoy learning Japanese but also gain deeper insights into Japan and its culture.
