I am currently teaching at one of the top independent schools for girls in Berkshire. I hold a PhD in chemistry, which gives me sound knowledge of the subject and I have completed my teacher training at the University of Cambridge.
I am told to be an approachable person which allows me to build a very good working relationship with my students. They are never afraid of asking questions and this gives me the opportunity to identify problems and rectify them quickly.

I am a chemistry specialist and I have five years experience of teaching Edexcel IGCSE and OCR A/B A level qualifications in a high achieving school. Tutoring Approach:
I do not have a unique approach. All students are different and they have all different needs. I try building a relationship of trust and listen to what their needs are. Very often is the case that they lack confidence and they just need some reassurance. Chemistry is a challenging subject but most students can do very well provided they have self belief and are willing to work hard.

I am a researcher at Kings College London. I do research on biology, genetics and neuroscience. In addition, I give lectures and run tutorials to biology, chemistry and medicine undergraduate students on genetics, evolution and neurobiology. İ am a graduate of veterinary medicine and worked as a veterinary surgeon for three years before moving to research. İn addition to Turkish, which is my mother language, I am very efficient in English and French and good in Dutch.

I was born in Turkey and finished my high school as well as Veterinary undergraduate education in Istanbul, Turkey. Then I moved to London to do a PhD in Psychiatry Genetics and since then I work / live in London.

I tailor my tutoring to the needs of my students. First İ talk to the student and try to understand the origin of the difficulty experienced by him/her. Then I give a background information on the subject and let the student to develop it while resolving any question or confusion. During this process I provide additional help whenever the student needs. Then I give examples on the same subject to strengthen the student's knowledge. Hello! Originally I come from Doncaster in South Yorkshire, but I've lived in Kent for 16+ years now.
I live in Faversham now and have done so for a few years.

Teaching Experience:
I've been an English teacher for over 26 years. During this time I have taught AQA, WJEC and now EDUQAS qualifications at both GCSE and A level.
I have taught A level English Literature and A level English Language. My passion is English Language-I love to teach all aspects of this subject from Child Language Acquisition, to Diversity in Language to Language Change.
In my career to date, I have been Head of Department and then Head of Faculty and Senior Teacher but for health reasons now I am part time and Second in English at my current school. The school I currently teach in is a non-selective secondary faith school where I have worked for over 15 years now. At our first meeting, I will assess your strengths and weaknesses so that I can draw up an individual learning plan for you. The first 15 minutes are free.

I find that most students are capable of learning the content of the GCSE or A level syllabus, can remember the main concepts, but struggle to write a coherent A grade essay. If this is your weakness, then I will focus on developing your essay writing skills and I have lots of resources which I use to do this.
I understand that some of the economics and business concepts can be quite complex and some of the diagrams challenging, so I will be very patient with you and will make sure you fully understand every topic in the syllabus. I will stretch and challenge you to make sure that you stay at the top of your game and I will use materials appropriate to your ability.

My main objective is to help students gain confidence and instil in them a 'can do' attitude. This is something that I believe I am good at. During my second year at LSE, I volunteered as a classroom assistant within the Mathematics department at Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in Islington. During secondary school, I also helped many fellow students in lunch breaks and after school as well as tutoring my siblings often covering a topic from scratch. All of this has helped me develop patience and understanding of how students think and the common mistakes and misconceptions that they have.

Tutoring Approach:
If the student already knows which topics they struggle with, then I am able to focus on those specific areas using a variety of resources. If necessary, I may "test" their current knowledge and capabilities by asking them to work through 1-2 questions so I can see their thought process and therefore, tailor any advice and teaching accordingly.

If a student completely doesn't understand a topic/area, then I would start from the basics and use plenty of worked examples and textbook/past paper questions to cement their knowledge and understanding as the key to doing well is achieved through practicing as many questions as possible!

I am incredibly patient, polite and well mannered. I have experienced the struggles of GCSEs and A Levels and can relate to the students concerns and worries. I have mentored several students and younger siblings/family relatives through their secondary school years and beyond, which I think makes me an ideal choice as a tutor.
