I currently work as a QA Engineering Lead at Globacap. Before this I received a Double First Class in Mathematics.
I am 33, fully CRB checked, and a member of STEMnet (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics network), as well as being An associate member of the IMA (Institute of Mathematics and its Applications).
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring around the West Midlands for over 5 years, Manchester for 2 years, and currently due to COVID, I've been teaching online for another year. All parents / tutees who I have supplied private tutoring to are happy to recommend / provide references should you wish to seek clarification, on the quality of tutoring I am able to provide.
All students I have tutored have seen an increase in grades over the time I have worked with them, with an average improvement of 1 and a half grades!
I am happy to also offer a free first half session in order to gauge a students requirements, as sometimes parents aren't aware of this.
N.E.W Academy - Cover Supervisor and Academic Coach
Years 2009/10 and 2010/11
Self Employed - Private Tutor
2012 till present
Tutoring Approach:
I will provide materials, course guides, and encourage young students to be creative in their methods of tackling problems. I have lots of experience with working with students from the E/U borderline-category all the way up to A/A* candidates.
From the Ages of 14 onwards (Year 9+) I teach all subjects from scratch, with a view to proving why concepts exist and introduce topics from first principles. This I believe will improve retention, help pupils understand concepts better, and also allow them to remember test questions better - It really does work!
Where parents request extra work, I can provide monthly progress sheets, homework tasks, and an extensive list of past papers. Pupils are also encouraged to not just tackle past papers, but to try and understand how papers are conceived, helping them prepare for the unexpected, should it arise in their relevant exams.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced tutor, proof reader and trainee teacher. Academically, I received my degree from the University of Birmingham (BSc Environmental Science) in 2013 achieving a 2.1 classification. In 2014-15 I studied MSc Surveying and Land Environmental Management at the University of Exeter (Penryn campus).
I am well organised, efficient and take a friendly approach to tutoring - as well as being hard-working and easy to get along with, I am reliable and prefer my lessons to be enjoyable as well as informative.
My passion for cooking, combined with another passion of mine; travel, has enabled me to spend considerable time in numerous countries giving me first hand knowledge of different languages/cultures and business environments. So far I have been fortunate to visit New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Korea, France, Spain, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway, Sweden and I intend to visit many more.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently studying for my PGCE part-time - and working as a supply teacher in local Birmingham schools.
I have previous tutoring experience with both young people (under 18) and international students since 2011. I have been able to help my past two tutees from UKtutors to A's in Geography GCSE and A Level respectively.
I also completed a 4 week internship in a New Zealand grammar school in the summer of August/September 2012, allowing me to gain classroom experience as well as helping out more recently in a primary school in Finland, teaching English.
Meanwhile, I tutor/help out my younger brother who is 18 and studying for his A levels.
I also have my own 'proofreading' enterprise and I have helped foreign students with their conversational English skills since 2011.
Tutoring Approach:
I take an informal approach but also ensure that sessions are structured well and tailored for each individual students' needs so every tutee is able to get the most from the session.
I am perfectly happy to re-arrange or cancel classes if necessary, I just ask to be notified at least 24 hours prior to the intended lesson.

Personal Description:
I have been a maths teacher for 14 years now as well as being a curriculum leader and now a Head of Maths at a secondary school. I have taught in the UK and in Australia. I believe everyone can be successful in maths if given the right guidance. Every student I have tutored has met or exceeded the target grade they wished to achieve. References available upon request.
Teaching Experience:
In the UK I have worked at Canons High School and Queens Park Community School and now work at HATO. The vast majority of my students have shown good to outstanding progress. I currently work at HATO as a Director of Maths & as a Specialist Leader of Maths Education for Canons Park Teaching School Alliance.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring sessions are very personalised to the student. I use a variety of diagnostic tools during the first 3-5 sessions to learn about the gaps in the tutees maths knowledge. I am also very aware that low confidence is often a barrier to maths learning. I embed a variety of engaging tasks and teaching strategies that promote confidence as well as retention. This usually leads to very good results. I also provide access to an online platform that ensures your learning continues between sessions. My focus is unapologetically on you, the tutee and ensuring that I alter my teaching to ensure you understand. I also take a holistic approach, looking at what your other study commitments are, and support you to manage your time, and coach your mindset and help hone your metacognitive strategies for success.

Personal Description:
I am highly qualified in music and maths. I studied Astro-Physics for a year at London University before switching to study music. My PhD in Composition at the University of Liverpool ended up being half maths and half music. I studied Godel's Theorem and used maths as an aid to composition. This means I am expert at using maths to solve problems which is a core syllabus requirement for all exam boards.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored in maths and music for 25 years. I have a 100% pass rate for students who have taken maths GCSE. I have attended courses in child protection.
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching style is to help students understand maths, enjoy concepts in maths and apply the knowledge they have learned to pass exams. I am an excellent choice as a tutor as I am patience, have an excellent grasp of the subject and I am able to teach my knowledge to others in an effective way.

Personal Description:
My previous students have described me as relatable, friendly, and passionate about unleashing their potential, and I am determined to meet the same description by individuals I teach here. Having moved to Sheffield very recently from Manchester, I am committed to replicating positive opinions and success in any new tutees who give me the opportunity to teach them. My students are always grateful for my help, especially my son who achieved an A* in his mathematics A level last year (as well as at GCSE), despite stating he felt little interest in the subject.
As a tutor, few things are as emotionally rewarding to me as results day, and I am fervent about ensuring my new students feel the same way if given the chance.
Teaching Experience:
Throughout my academic and professional life, I have tutored individuals requiring improved understanding and practice in mathematics. Based on my observations and the fact that tutoring took up a significant amount of my time after I completed my PhD in Physics from the University of Manchester, I have accumulated a wealth of experience on how to teach a wide range of students based on their mindset, targets, and preferred methods of learning.
Tutoring Approach:
I am proud to say that my determination and techniques of making learning and revision enjoyable have allowed me to always perform as one of the best in every institution I have studied at, which is something I have noticed in many of my tutees. Since I have attended both below-average, and far above-average institutes, I am experienced in how to encourage people of various 'school-cultures' to find the drive to study and succeed.

Personal Description:
I am currently a graduate student in Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. As a curious and driven learner, I am eager to teach what I have learned, as well as learn from those I teach.
I specialise in teaching Biology, Math and English until GCSE level, and as a fluent speaker of Mandarin I am also able to teach the language to younger students. I am able to teach both GCSE and those working towards the International Baccalaureate (IB). Scored 42 points doing the IB in Singapore myself, having done Higher Level Maths, Chemistry and my favourite- Biology. I was a Triple Science (I)GCSE student, scoring above 90 in all subjects, and tutored 2 IGCSE students myself as a Senior in high school. As a university newspaper editor and columnist, I love to write and communicate science, therefore am inclined towards teaching the sciences and English, but am also open to teach Maths, Chemistry and Mandarin.
Teaching Experience:
I have worked with Oxford Tutors since October 2019, until the pandemic took its stride. I tutored briefly while studying in London for my undergraduate studies (Imperial College London). I tutored math and chinese (mandarin) to younger students during my last two years of high school in Singapore.
Tutoring Approach:
It is both fulfilling and enjoyable to help others realise their potential. During class, I typically first unravel important concepts to ensure the student grasps the topic well, avoiding rote memorisation, before assessments are provided. People describe me as friendly, encouraging and approachable, and I hope this demeanour makes my student feel at ease whilst bringing out his/her own enthusiasm and excitement for the subject. My patience is endless, especially with experience teaching my three younger sisters in Maths and Biology.

Furthermore, I teach research methods and exam preparation/revision skills. My specialist area is hazard and risk management (seismic and tectonic hazards), but I also have the ability to teach social, regional and cultural geography, as well as physical landscapes, systems and processes. Lessons are provided face to face on camera, using slides and case study resources, as well as past papers. Tuition covers EDEXCEL, AQA, OCR, EDUQAS, Cambridge International. Personal Description:
A friendly, patient, passionate and thorough tutor with +8 years maths tutoring experience, willing to go the extra mile to ensure student's academic success.
I am based in Bishopbriggs and also a former Bishopbriggs academy student. However, I also travel to other parts of Glasgow to tutor.
I studied Mathematics at Heriot-watt University and BA Education with specialism in Numeracy at the University of Stirling, which has led me into the field of teaching.
Each lesson is £25 per hour. 2 hour lessons are £40.
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring for +8 years at both primary and secondary level. However, I mainly specialise in secondary level mathematics from S1 - S3, Nat 4, Nat 5 to Higher.
I have tutored mathematics at secondary school level for many years now around the Bishopbriggs, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, Bearsden, Milngavie and Robyroyston area.
I have also had experience working in several primary schools in the local Bishopbriggs and Cumbernauld area
My +8 years of tutoring has allowed me to identify areas where pupils commonly have difficulty with and develop an effective way where laying out the lessons are structured and easy to absorb.
Tutoring Approach:
A Systematic approach to Teaching and Easy-to-follow lesson structure - I adopt a systematic approach to teaching that ensures lessons are easily understood by explaining the learning content in a step-by-step process using everyday language that allows pupils to understand mathematics easier.
Identify pupil's strengths and weaknesses - I will firstly identify pupil's strengths and weaknesses so I can identify areas where students needs work on. I will then prioritise focusing on improving on those areas of weakness to ensure there are no gaps in learner knowledge so pupils feel confident in their understanding.
Exam revision and past papers practice - I will introduce various successful exam strategies, past-paper revision techniques and plenty of exam practice so pupils can feel confident going into the exam.
Clear communication and transparency of pupil's learning progress with pupils and parents - I will update both students and parents of the learning progress at the end of the lesson so everyone is on the same page.
Provide recommendations for maths practice books and flexible lesson scheduling - I will also recommend any books to purchase. Furthermore, I provide flexible scheduling of lessons to work around the pupil's timetables.
Outline of the lessons?
• The first lesson will focus on identifying areas where pupils need work on.
• In the first few initial lessons, I will cover maths topics that pupils struggle with.
• Future lessons will cover maths topics in the curriculum that pupils are doing in class.
• Towards the end of the term, prior to exams, I will focus on exam practice and past papers.
If you have any queries please feel free to contact via email or phone. Thank you.
