Personal Description:
I am friendly outgoing tutor who has a variety of interests. I enjoy travelling and playing a wide variety of sports in my spare time. I am fairly young and this ensures I can always communicate with my students effectively
Teaching Experience:
I have been tutoring for over 16 years and have had over 400 students in that time from numerous different schools and backgrounds. My success rate is very good.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to break up whichever subject I am tutoring into the various topics that make up the syllabus. I will then go through each lesson the different topics ensuring the student has understood what I am explaining, if not I will explain it again in a different way to ensure they have understood. I will then set regular homeworks and closer to the exam time go through past papers keeping parents up to date with their childs progress. I have a clear vision in how I need to take make each student progress and this structured approach has served me very well. I always ensure my communication with my students is very good and that they enjoy their lessons aswell as learning. This sets me apart from other tutors as I am young yet still very experienced at what I do. I can sometimes be more flexible with rates and do provide group tuition which may be more cost effective for you.

Personal Description:
Hi I'm Heather!
I hold a First Class Degree in English Literature and Drama from Manchester University.
I've been tutoring for nearly 15 years, working with students aged 6 years, up to 18, supporting them through KS1-4, GCSE and A'Level/IB curricula. I have also taught English as a foreign language. The content of my tutorials is entirely student- led; i.e I work towards the individual's goals and learning styles. I am experienced in the teaching of essay writing, exam preparation and textual analysis/understanding. The most important thing I can do as a tutor is to empower the student to feel confident in their own abilities and thoughts.
I have worked with students of A Level and GCSE in a diverse range of texts including Victorian Gothic literature, the American Novel, pre and post 1900 poetry, modern drama and theatre studies, post -colonial literature, dystopian literature. All of my students have achieved their personal desired A-C grades, and gained acceptance into the university of their choice.
Recent students have achieved places at Eton and Wellington college, UCL, King's and Westminster. I currently tutor students applying for or attending Kew House, Kings School Wimbledon, Fulham Prep to name a few.
I have 2 years experience of home schooling Key Stage 2 and 3 literacy and numeracy, with an excellent overview of the curriculum and a variety of techniques to engage different learners. I have worked closely with young learners with dyslexia, ADHD and autistic students
I also teach drama school audition preparation, public speaking skills and methods of overcoming academic anxiety. In addition to my work as a tutor I work for a theatre company as a director and facilitator, and bring this creativity and fun to my tutoring.
Do get in touch if you have any questions!
Heather

-Assistant director/facilitator at theatre company Access All Areas
-TEFL introductory course- Cambridge
-Creative writing teacher training with The Ministry of Stories
-Drama facilitator, Hackney Shed Theatre Company
Tutoring Approach:
I believe tutoring should be a dialogue, not a dictatorship. Each lesson would be highly organized to cater for the requirements and ability level of the individual student. I plan all sessions to include a range of discussion, demonstration, exercises, review of work and homework tasks if required. Crucial to my teaching approach is an easy, flexible engagement with the individual- working to their learning style and objectives, and encouraging the pupil to draw out their own understandings rather than enforce rote learning.
Areas of expertise include: Literature Romantic poetry, contemporary poetry, the dystopian novel, the Gothic novel, WWI literature, post-colonial literature, the early novel, Shakespeare, dramatic writing, film studies. History- Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Russia from Revolution through to the cold war. Apartheid in South Africa, the Suffragette movement, the history of British Education, Chartism. Personal Description:
I graduated from Durham University with an MA Education and I have Qualified Teacher Status specialised in Chinese teaching. My Bachelor degree was 'Chinese Literature'. I have a recent CRB check, Mandarin teaching experience at both private and state schools in London and East Sussex. I also have experiences of private tuition (age 8 months to 23 years old, from complete beginner to university level) and real passion for this career.
I have been teaching at a private school in London for almost 10 years. Prior to that, I taught at a prestigious private school in Sussex for three years. In the past few years, I have also been working as an A-Level Mandarin examiner. During my teaching placements I've came across a range of students with different abilities, and I have managed to help them achieve outstanding results with a variety of teaching strategies.
I am punctual, easy-going, patient with strong academic background together with a range of teaching experiences. If you would like a weekday evening, weekend or summer Mandarin intensive courses (areas: calligraphy, tourism, business, culture, exam preparation or even Chinese cookery!!), please feel free to drop me an email :)
I'd love to hear from you.
Teaching Experience:
1. Helped my tutee to pass his HSK4 exam within eight weeks of learning;
2. Years of teaching the English secondary school curriculum.
3. Every year of teaching, my students achieved 100% A-A*.
4. Lots of experience in HSK and business tuition.
Tutoring Approach:
I have plenty of interests and these can also be involved in extra-curricular activities in terms of Mandarin teaching, such as singing, cooking and calligraphy.
In order to build up an interactive learning atmosphere, I will mainly utilise the Communicative Language Teaching Method (CLT), which focuses on cultural aspects. I will also use other teaching approaches in accordance with the purpose of learning, learners' age and their language backgrounds.

Personal Description:
My name is Kieran and I am an enthusiastic English student currently studying at Loughborough University. I have worked in the theatre for around eight years and am therefore incredibly confident and easily approachable. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at school and always thought about the prospect of teaching or tutoring so that I could pass on my knowledge and love for English to those who perhaps need some extra help in reaching those top grades at GCSE and AS level. My age also allows me to empathise with current GCSE and A-Level students as it was not long ago that I sat those exams myself. I am therefore confident with current exam board syllabuses and the relevant texts being studied. Please feel free to contact me regarding the tutoring of English Literature.
Teaching Experience:
Supervisor and staff at Rainham School for Girls summer school 2012.
Volunteer at local theatre group teaching 7 - 18 year olds music.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a very relaxed attitude towards tutoring as I believe this is the best environment to learn. Students will bring current school work with them to the session and we will work through any problems or issues that they are struggling with. As well as this, I will prepare literary examples and worksheets if students give me notice as to what they wish to study during the coming session. I am completely dedicated to helping and supporting those who need an extra push during exams or even just wish to receive extra guidance within the field of English Literature.

Personal Description:
I see myself closer to the role of a mentor rather than a tutor, with my goal being to help students maximise their potential and achieve their set goals. These can range from academic excellence to securing a full-time job in investment banking or joining a top university.
I have studied Economics at UCL, where I graduated at the top of my class with First Class, Russian Studies at OXFORD, and Management at the Judge Business School in CAMBRIDGE (Distinction). Moreover, I hold a PhD in Economics (UCL, 2016).
As you can see in my profile, I characterise myself as an Investor, Entrepreneur, and Academic. As a university lecturer, I primarily taught Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Finance, and Industrial Economics to undergraduate students and International Business and Finance to Postgraduate students. Through this work, I identified various gaps in the educational sector, and as a result, I decided to start my own tutoring company and my own educational consulting group. Yet I am still very passionate about teaching, so apart from running the companies, I have kept the role of the head tutor. At the same time, I am passionate about the world of finance, so apart from being heavily invested in the academic aspect of finance, I also have my own investment company.
Despite my various professional endeavours, I still consider myself a professional tutor. Tutoring for me is not just an additional source of income but a significant source of creativity in my life. In fact, I believe that there are strong complementarities between my two, as, through my entrepreneurial activities, I get the chance to give real-life examples to my students as well as help them understand the real world.
My students have achieved outstanding results, and I believe that I have all the necessary skills required to improve their academic performance and help them fulfil their potential. Throughout my career, I have had extensive experience with families of high-net-worth individuals, primarily from the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the United Kingdom.
Looking specifically at the SERVICES I offer:
■ Regular Tutoring for GCSE, IGCSE, IB, A Level
1. Tutoring subjects include Economics and Business across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and iGCSE.
2. Intensive exam preparation sessions
3. Homeschooling students (resits, gap years, and extenuating circumstances)
■ University Admissions (Undergraduate + Postgraduate + PhD)
1. Assistance with personal statements for UCAS applications
2. University and Programme Selection
3. Proposal Drafting (research degrees)
4. Interview Preparation (MBA, PhD)
■ University Tutoring
1. Assistance with undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, and Management.
2. I have extensive experience in thesis writing and assignment supervision, research guidance, and academic writing.
3. I also tutor students studying for foundation degrees in order to assist them in achieving the grades required for universities they aspire to join.
■ Casual Learners
1. Support for CFA Level 1, 2
2. Tutoring for different subjects outside the normal university curriculum such as (such as Applied Finance, Stata Masterclass, and Day Trading)
3. Practical/ Mini MBA (mostly relevant for those running a business and are interested in developing further skills)
■ Job Applications
I help students with their job applications and interviews, primarily those interested in graduate programmes within the financial industry, especially investment banking and private equity. This includes:
1. CV guidance,
2. help with motivation letters and psychometric tests (SHL, Kenexa, CEB, Gartner, etc.)
3. interview preparation (competency, motivation, technical), including financial modelling for M&A and Leveraged buyouts.
4. For those interested in consulting, special case-study interview sessions can be organised with real consultants working in top consulting firms (such as BCG and McKinsey), where the student will be coached to excel in these interviews.
FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION + QUALITY ASSURANCE
After purchasing my details, and so as to ensure the compatibility between the student and myself, I will organise a free 15-minute consultation, where we can discuss in more detail what are his/hers key objectives, the way I can support him/her in his/her studies, and devise a way to move forward. After the meeting, we can schedule our first session, and in case the student does not feel satisfied with it, I will provide a refund. Note that references are available on request and that I usually become fully booked by late February/early March. An enhanced DBS certificate is also available.
Teaching Experience:
Over the past 15 years, I have been helping more than 300 students with their studies in Economics, Finance, Statistics, and other Business-related subjects, primarily at the university level.
Looking specifically at the subjects I have experience teaching:

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is tailor-made, meaning that I am always seeking to adjust to the particular needs of each student. In some sessions, especially those that are close to the exam period, I focus on developing their exam skills and go through some well-tested revision techniques.
For all sessions, the objective is to make the class as interactive as possible. I follow the "Socratic" approach to learning, whereby I guide my students towards obtaining the correct answers with a series of well-placed questions rather than providing the answers straight away. Lastly, I advocate an empirical understanding of theoretical concepts, thus frequently referencing real-world examples from my work in finance and seeking to bring theory to life through life examples, cards, games, and financial trading.
I am very patient and endeavor to build a strong working relationship with my students based on honesty and openness. I have high expectations of myself and my students, and as a result, I can be very demanding yet always committed to helping them achieve their goals. I pride myself in my RELIABILITY - meaning that I will never abandon a student before the exams or any other key commitments that he/she might have. I ensure **CONTINUOUS SUPPORT** for students, and I make myself available for questions via phone or e-mail throughout the day, outside class hours, and free of charge. I am always OPEN TO FEEDBACK from the student, and I expect an honest relationship and communication with them. To achieve this, I aim to create a strong rapport with them while patiently helping them deal with any difficulties they face.

Personal Description:
Γεια σου! My name is Christina and I am a passionate native Modern Greek Teacher. My background from my graduate Classical studies as well as my postgraduate Moral Philosophy/Ethics studies,in combination with QTS certificate and me being an Examiner associate, gave me the chance to work with everything that I love, hence teaching Modern Greek as a second language.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Modern Greek as a second language since 2014 in London, both to adults and children.
My expertise is the preparation of A Level Modern Greek and GCSE students in order to succeed the A* grade in their final exams.
I currently work as an A Level Teacher in a Greek School and I teach Modern Greek in groups and in one-to-one tuition both online and in one of the best Universities in London.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach of teaching is communicative and experiental, and my aim is the beginner student to be confident and able to speak Greek from the very beginning as well as to start exploring all aspects of Modern Greek language. I offer a full Modern Greek A Level and GCSE preparetion, with excellent student results and comments.
With regards to more advanced students, my guidance will focus on further enhancing their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as the further development on the vocabulary and the grammar/syntax.
All lessons are based and planned according to the students' needs.
I am always positive and encouraging, creating a pleasant learning environment where the knowledge goes hand-in hand with fun.

Personal Description:
I graduated with first class honours in Linguistics and am now studying the historical development of the Latin language for my MRes (Masters of Research). Having studied both English and Latin language I have an in depth knowledge of grammar and syntax in both languages. I also have a myriad of tips and tricks to help make grammar learning a little less daunting!
I can also tutor undergraduate Linguistics (listed under English). I am specialising in Historical Syntax but am able to offer support for a range of other first and second year modules including but no limited to: Sytnax, Semantics, Phonology, Historical Englishes, and English Grammar. I am open to enquiries about modules not listed here.
Teaching Experience:
I have over 3 years of teaching experience with students from year 1 in primary school all the way to first year of undergraduate. Through teaching a broad range of students I have developed a flexible approach to teaching can easily adapt to the needs of a student. My tutoring supplements school lessons by helping the student to develop their problem solving skills so that they are able to tackle those surprising exam questions calmly.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to take an active approach to learning. In my first lesson with a student we focus on past paper questions to identify their strengths and weaknesses. This allows us to formulate a comprehensive plan going forward in order to maximise their revision time. I will work with the student to fill the gaps in their knowledge by working systematically through the syllabus for that topic. For content based material I will get the student to ask questions and tell me what they do not understand, I will then explain the material in simple terms. For mathematical or grammatical (depending on the subject) material I will explain how to do the calculation then run through examples with the student until they feel confident to do it alone. To conclude the lessons I ask students to tell me what they now know about the topic so that they can see just how much they have learnt!

Personal Description:
A second year medic at the University of Edinburgh. I graduated with 44/45 in the IB.
I did not get where I am today by myself. I had help - friends, family, and teachers. I know how much impact a teacher can have, and I just want to help where I can.
Prior to Uni, I spent 2 years in the Army developing ,training and leading frontline soldiers. I have seen people from all walks of life and am committed to developing and teaching my students as well.
Teaching Experience:
Prior to Uni, I tutored final year IB students for a year. Prior to that, I did not have any formal teaching assignments, only teaching friends or some of my soldiers when I was serving. Despite that, I have been coaching for most of my life. Since I was 15 I have been mentoring my juniors in my extra curriculars at school, so I am well versed when it comes to different methods of mentoring.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy getting to know my students beyond their academic needs; building a connection and seeing that they are supported in any way that I can.
I also believe in understanding rather than memorizing, so I teach my students skills that will help them approach problems logically instead of just memorizing the textbook.
I am flexible and can tailor lesson times specific to the student.
