PHOTOGRAPHY TUITION
I hold a PhD in Art and Communication with Photography as my field of specialism and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education.
At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography. I have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary photographic practices and of theoretical approaches to the subject, and also have a strong technical grounding both in traditional and in digital processes. I am experienced in all stages of the development of photographic projects, from early conceptualisation through to printing and exhibiting.I have exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows. My selection for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2008 Exhibition in Liverpool and London is one highlight among them.
As an artist and teacher I insist on the highest professional standards and I emphasise clear and direct communication and honesty throughout.
With 10 years of experience I offer private lessons to photography students and any other individuals who would be interested in 'how to'/technical skills sessions or in developing a photographic body of work and would be in need for some expert advice.
I am passionate about photography and about teaching everybody to learn how to `see` and `think` creatively through the lens of a camera but also without it!

GREEK LANGUAGE TUITION
I am a Greek native speaker coming originally from the beautiful island of Crete. I have been living in England for the last 16 years and I have been teaching privately for the last 10 years. I hold a PhD in Art and Communication and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. These qualifications provided me with a very good command of the English Language. I am very capable of playing between Greek and English and can help English speakers have a wonderful experience of my native language.

I am a passionate photographer with 30 years experience based in York, North Yorkshire. I specialise in portraits, documentary, editorial and event photography. I try to evoke and capture a mood within my pictures, a feeling a unique moment, creating images that have impact. I love to work with people, and I like to be able to build up a close rapport with all the clients that I work with.

Teaching Experience:
I hold a Further and Adult Education teaching certificate, I taught on the Access to Photography, at Newcastle College. I have continued to develop my teaching and training working with all levels from primary to Adult and A level . I teach Photography, Lightroom, web design, animation and multimedia. I also teach photography workshops to all levels and teaching on a individual basis, one to one. My style of tutoring is to identify my students learning needs, then I deliver through presentations, activities, instruction and demonstrations. I have a PGCE in Secondary Art and Design, and have 8 years experience of working in education. I also have a degree in Theatre Design. I worked as a Visual Merchandiser for a couple of years after graduating, and then made the move into teaching.
I now work in pastoral roles within secondary schools - but actively keep up to date with the Art GCSE and A Level specs.

Teaching Experience:
I have worked as a Secondary Art teacher up to head of department level in London. Since moving up to Yorkshire 3 years ago I have worked in pastoral roles within 2 different schools, looking after years 7 and 8 and now 6th form.
