Study guide,25 August 2010
Obviously not a subsitute for lazy students who think they can cram instead of studying properl: however, well-written and well presented topics and very useful for revision. Also, good for reading before going into topics in greater depth as structures are explained. Worth the investment.

This is a good text to use in preparation for the English and English Language GCSE Examination,22 May 2014
I choose this book/booklet because I was able to see some of the contents on line and what I saw seemed extremely useful. I gave the book 4 rating because it explains clearly and in detail the different skills students have to use when analysing non-fiction tests. For example, it explains and give actual examples of the four common purposes of writing, with each piece annonated to focus the students' mind. It also explains again with worked examples how to write about and analysis language effectively, using the technical terms student will have to use in their examination to gain high marks. In addition, it gives students clear guidance on how to structure thier writing in paragraphs from the introduction to the conclusion. Furthermore, it hepls student develop their reading skills, how to anaylse examination questions, explain the marking scheme and give examples of A*- C answers which are annotated aptly. Finally, there is a very useful glossary with words clearly explained and written examples to bring out the meanings of the words.
