       A comprehensive workbook,

This book, along with 6B, covers the Year 6 National Curriculum very nicely. As a home educator I've found it a good basis to work from. It has a chatty, jokey style that I occasionally found irritating - but my children enjoyed! It's generally quite good fun to work through.Some of the methodology is convoluted, in my opinion, but I think this is a reflection of the NC more than the book. Sometimes a sum will be done using a very long drawn out method, only to be replaced with a shorter, more efficient way later in the book. Because of this we did find ourselves leaving out bits. However, I would still recommend it.
