Personal Description:

I have a first class degree in English Literature and Creative Writing and can tutor English across all ages. I have experience in tutoring many ages and am patient, kind, and very hard working.

I am training to become a primary school teacher, and I love learning and teaching. I am a passionate, friendly, smiley upbeat person and hope to bring that positive energy to everyone I teach.

I am available to tutor in Surrey and the six zones of London. I know my way around London and am organised, punctual and reliable.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently training as a primary teacher and have experience working one on one and with groups in a mainstream classroom setting.

I have experience of teaching ages 4 to 16 at a Summer Camp in Michigan, USA. I also have experience of tutoring at University level.

Tutoring Approach:

I create an individual learning profile for each person I tutor, and highlight strengths and weaknesses. This profile will adapt as the student learns. I aim to help those I tutor to enjoy what they learn and make steady, monitored progress.

I give regular homework which I carefully plan and tailor to the exact needs of the individual, then assess for free.

If you are working with set texts I will read them thoroughly so that we can discuss them together and think of ways to tackle potential essay questions. If you do not have any set texts then I am happy to select books for you at an appropriate level.

I use lots of positive encouragement and praise at every stage. I try to foster an interest in writing, reading, and open discussion. My main aim is to empower those I tutor so that they become progressively more independent in their learning.

Qualifications:

• First Class Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing
• A Levels in English Literature, Psychology and Philosophy, AS Communication Studies and English Language
• 12 A-C GCSE's
• First Aid and Child Safety Awareness training
