Information About Francesca:


Personal Description:

I'm in my 3rd year at Oxford University, studying Psychology and Physiology, and I'm really enjoying my subject. I got 3As and 1B at A-level (French, RS and Biology; Drama and Theatre Studies) and 5A*s, 3As and 1B at GCSE, with A* in Maths and Combined Science. My biggest hobby is singing, and I'm in 4 choirs/singing groups at the moment, including the Kent Youth Choir and the Kent Youth Chamber Choir. I enjoy travelling, and have no qualms with driving to jobs!



Teaching Experience:

I haven't had any formal teaching experience, but for both our first-year and second-year exams, I helped a friend studying my subject with elements of the course that she did not understand, and during my Religious Studies A-level, explained some of the more obscure philosophical concepts to other members of my class. I also have a 13-year-old brother who I have been helping for many years now with his schoolwork!



Tutoring Approach:

I am a very patient person, and I understand that some subjects or topics are simply hard for the person to grasp. If one method of explanation doesn't work, I do my best to come up with new ideas of how to explain the concept in question, as I know that different teaching methods are needed for different types of learners. I am also very organised, and I will work before a tutorial to make sure that I have covered the topics that need to be taught.

Qualifications:

  • A-levels in Biology, French, Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics) and Drama and Theatre Studies
  • Currently studying for a degree in Psychology and Physiology (predicted 1st/High 2.1)
  • A* in Maths GCSE
