Personal Description:
I am a qualified Primary School teacher with eight years experience across the age range from Reception to Year Six. I am an experienced tutor and have tutored in Maths, English and Science. I specialised in Science during my PGCE course and was Head of Science at my last school in London. I currently teach Year 6 at a local primary school.
Teaching Experience:
Eight years experience across whole primary age range: 3 - 11.
Head of Science and responsible for raising standards in Science SATs.
Year 6 teacher for 3 years so extensive SATs experience in Maths, English and Science.
Year 2 teacher so experience of Key Stage One SATs.
Head of ICT and Assessment so experience in assessment tests and requirements for the primary age group.
Tutoring Approach:
I always like to set goals at the beginning so that my tutee and I know what it is that he/she would like to achieve. In this way we can monitor progress and have an end goal in mind. It is then so rewarding when goals are reached. I believe in a fun and interactive approach to learning and my lessons always have variety and aim to appeal to different learning styles. Having worked in both the Public and Private sector I also have extensive knowledge of the requirements for SATs and Common Entrance.
