Personal Description:
I am currently employed in a field not related to chemistry but I am keen to keep up my scientific knowledge. I am friendly and approachable and have a wide range of interests and hobbies.
Teaching Experience:
I used to be a laboratory demonstrator at York university while studying for my degree and PhD and worked with children attending residential camps where they were taught chemistry. I also became a level 1 rugby coach and was heavily involved in coaching the local youth side before I moved to oxfordshire. I was working toward my level 2 qualification.
I have tutored with other tutoring companies over the past 12 months and found it very valuable for both myself and the student.
Tutoring Approach:
I aim to help the student to understand the basic concepts to allow them to work out problems for themselves. I am very friendly and tend to approach the session as a fairly informal question and answer session as well as some formal teaching. I try to give the student the tools they need to help them learn as well as work through their specific problems with them.
