Graham - Stourport-on-Severn tutor

Information About Graham:

Personal Description:

I have completed a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences and a PhD in Medicine. For the past 6 years I have worked as a Scientist in Histopathology at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
I am extremely enthusiastic about science and medicine, and really enjoy lecturing and teaching. I aim to simplify complex concepts and enhance understanding in all pupils, regardless of their academic abilities.

Teaching Experience:

During my career I have been responsible for training junior staff, practically and academically, in small groups and on an individual basis. I have also lectured on several occasions to groups of people, including presentations at scientific conferences, explaining concepts to people with varying levels of understanding of the subject.
Over the past 8 years I have tutored many GCSE, A-level & University students in Biology and Chemistry with notable success.

Tutoring Approach:

I understand that each student is different and has individual requirements. At the first lesson, I aim to identify the specific areas that need attention. We then work through the relevant syllabus and I simplify and explain the areas of difficulty using examples and visual aids. I try to build up the confidence of the pupil as much as I can, as I see this as a crucial aspect. I also set homework if this is desired by the pupil and family, including set exam questions relevant to the syllabus.
