Personal Description:
Hi, my name is Guillaume and I'm a 25 year old French PhD student in Chemistry at the University of Sussex.
I'm looking to teach Chemistry, Maths and French.
Teaching Experience:
I've lived in the US for a year so I guess my speaking English is alright. Over there, I tutored some people in French and had a good experience.
In addition, I have been tutoring some British students organic chemistry to help them improve their skills and get better marks here in the UK.
The main thing to succeed I think is to understand the basics first (of any subject) and then from this point apply that knowledge to more advanced levels/problems.
Tutoring Approach:
Basicaly, it first of all depends of what the student is interested in. For sciences, I suppose I would check the level the student has and also what she/he needs to learn in order to get his degree at school and help out were the weaknesses are.
Regarding French language, I could follow a method from school and stress some important points of grammar, add some vocabulary, but I guess the main point is to speak !
I would prefer making the student speak French and see where the mistakes are and then prepare some training problems.
