Information About Abigail:


Personal Description:

I am an Oxford graduate in Experimental Psychology, with a keen interest in music. I am fluent in Spanish having spent the past 6 months living in Mexico and in addition have developed a love of the Mexican culture and cuisine. My background is strongly academic, and having taught struggling students in a school environment I have an understanding and sympathy with some of the difficulties faced in learning. I am friendly, enthusiastic and have a creative approach to solving problems.



Teaching Experience:

I have worked as a Learning Support Assistant in the Holt School, Wokingham, providing support to struggling students in a classroom setting. In addition I taught small groups of students in remedial English lessons. I have experience of teaching adult music lessons and I have provided private coaching for maths common entrance.



Tutoring Approach:

I have a disciplined and organised approach to tutoring, with an emphasis on learning through understanding. I believe this is the key to building a foundation of important concepts and for grasping new or difficult topics. With a patient attitude and friendly disposition, I am keen to tackle the difficulties faced by struggling students, and provide advice and help to those looking to improve and achieve a higher standard.
