Personal Description:
I am 23 and am currently doing a number of work expreience placements and internships in the media. I graduated from Durham University with First Class Honours in English Literature. I have been described as intelligent, kind and witty. On a more serious note, I think I have the enthusiasm, communication skills, commitment and patience to be a great tutor. I look forward to it.
Teaching Experience:
Last year, I tutored a GCSE Maths student between her mock exams and GCSE.
I did voluntarily enrol on the Student Mentoring Scheme while at University. There, I mentored a 12 year old boy in foster care, over 3 years. This involved meeting up regularly and building a relationship. It required good communication skills, commitment, empathy and a lot of patience.
I think this experience and my natural enthusiasm for the subjects will make me a good tutor.
Tutoring Approach:
There are 3 core values that will structure my approach:
(1.) Be prepared for each session.
(2.) Focus on the specific problems the student highlights.
(3.) Make the student feel confident about the subject.
