Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher from year 1 to 5. I have 20 years experience with children and have taught the subjects listed for over 10 years. I have a BSc in Early Childhood Education and an MSc in Middle Level Education, years 5-7. I am currently working on a DPhil at the University of Sussex. I love teaching and would love to work with your child to develop his/her skills and to ensure a more successful school experience. I will work closely with you child to support her/his strengths and to improve on skill that are weak. I will report your child's progress to you on a weekly basis so together we can help your child to become successful academically.

Gifted and Talented Teacher
Duties included:
Responsibility for ensuring students progress in an environment that meets their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs. Evaluation of prospective students through the administration of various standardized tests and the analysis of those test scores against the programs entry requirements as well as the accurate recording and management of all data collected on each student. Keeping parent communication open and positive through formal and informal conferences, a weekly agenda that is signed and returned, and a program web site updated as needed. Insuring clear and concise communication between the county Gifted and Talented office and school administration. Development and administration of a school wide (K-5th), "Talent Development" days twice a week. This program brings the non-program students lessons that emphasize higher order thinking skills and the multiple intelligences.
year 5 teacher
Duties included:
Maintaining a classroom that encourages students to explore and expand on areas of interest and that enriches the classroom lessons. Monitoring each student's progress academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Accurately recording student progress using pre-test and post-tests and county specifies examinations and standardized tests. Active cooperation in planning the grade level activities and lessons with other members of the team. Maintain ongoing communication with parents formally and informally. Also, maintain a daily agenda, weekly newsletter and behaviour log that was sent home, signed by a parent, and returned. A teacher website was also maintained with the weekly agenda and attached were pages with weekly spelling words and a home reading log for parents and students to print, if necessary. The teacher's e-mail address was attached for parents to contact me more easily.
As lead teacher- Maintaining accurate two-way communication between team and administration. Present retraining and refresher sessions as deemed necessary by administration. Coordination of grade level events with appropriate personnel and administration. Maintaining a leadership role in progressing the team smoothly through the planning of weekly, monthly, and yearly extracurricular lessons.
As team technology coordinator- Coordinate the schedule to assure every class had equal access to the 16 grade level laptops. Maintain the repair records and maintained for the laptops on the grade laptop cart. Communication between the media specialist and the technology department.
year 4 teacher

Tutoring Approach:
I will first talk with you and you child to assess the area's that need work. Before we begin a new lesson, I will determine the needs of you child and then I will develop an individualized lesson plan that will focus on the areas of most need and support those areas by building from the areas of strength. This will give your child a firm base to work from and to build on. I will give you a detailed lesson plan and weekly assessment of your child's progress. I will also work closely with the classroom lessons if needed and can work with your child at a more individualized pace. Your child's success will be my prime concern and focus during his/her time with me.
