Personal Description:
Bilingual Eng/Fr graduate with a BA (Hons) in French Studies, majoring in literature and translating, I am vivacious, energetic, outgoing, understanding and I love passing my knowledge on. I also speak very good German and Spanish.
I have just moved back to the UK after 7 years spent in France, where I was educated and obtained a French Baccalaurat (Literature).
I am passionate about languages and want to learn Italian, Arabic, Russian, Polish and Japanese.
Teaching Experience:
7 years teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
3 years working for Wall Street Institute and IFG Langues, both in Paris, as a business and conversational English for group and individual lessons, also a level tester.
3 years teaching French.
2 years teaching Spanish and German.
Tutoring Approach:
Depending on whom I am teaching, I use different methods as everyone learns differently.
For children I use music, images, games and other entertaining methods to make the learning process as enjoyable as possible.
I use similar methods for adults, depending upon their level and their needs/goals, and I always try to use as little of their mother tongue as possible. I like to use bilingual books, and put people into a "real-life" situation by discussing things that are relevant to them; to do this, I like to get to know my students well and make sure that they are progressing as they would like to.
I ask each student to buy a vocabulary book, which they will write new words in, and at the beginning of each session I ask them to make a few sentences using the words chosen in the previous session.
