A former teacher, university lecturer and local authority educational adviser with responsibility for supporting and advising 300+ infant, primary and middle schools on the teaching and assessment of English Language & Literacy skills, providing training courses and organizing conferences. Former consulting editor to educational publishers and the BBC (Education) and writer/co-writer of numerous educational publications including books for teachers on the teaching of reading and spelling - distributed worldwide. Former Moderator of teacher assessments of KS1 SATS (English, Maths & Science).

Tutoring Approach:
Personalised tuition programmes always begin with assessment/identification of needs followed by the provision of a series of lessons based on identified needs. The lessons focus on developing and improving oral, reading and writing skills through a range of activities and resources.
11plus tuition focuses on supporting children in developing advanced English comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and Maths skills as well as strategies for Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. One to one or small group tuition. Please enquire for details.
Regular feedback is provided to parents as well as information on ways in which they can support their child at home and at school.
